10 best blogs for entrepreneurs; what to read to get seriously inspired

When I was setting up this business I read a lot of blogs. There is a ton of information out there and it’s a real job to whittle it down to the few places I found to be a treasure trove of inspiration and wisdom. The bloggers below gave me great ideas and inspirations as well as practical, actionable advice.

Enjoy! Please comment with your own treasure trove as I would love to build on this list!

  • Seth’s Blog Seth Godin is a marketing whizz who served as VP at Yahoo , has written numerous books designed to inspire and ignite, and devised something called the altMBA, an intensive, online 4-week workshop for high performing individuals. His blog is funny and concise and always offers value. I love his email checklist and Leadership blogs. 30 second reads to give you pause for thought.
  • Mixergy is a great place full of interviews, courses, blogs and tools for entrepreneurs. You could spend hours delving into it, but the most relevant blogs I found were under the Women Founders collection and the Starting a Business collection.
  • She Owns It Their manifesto is ‘Celebrating, Supporting and Connecting Women Entrepreneurs’ which sounds pretty alright to me. It’s full of great advice and different perspectives from female business owners. One of my recent favourites is this post by Donna Amos about how not to burn out if you’re running a business by yourself
  • Leaders In Heels is a great community designed to empower female leaders. They’ve got a ton of resources to check out. Have a look at the Start Ups section for advice and tips from other business owners, as well as the After Hours section for parenting, exercise and other lifestyle content.
  • ForbesWomen is brilliant for topical blogs about equality, gender pay gap, highlighting fabulous women and their routines and much more. I love this How to know when your brand story is boring (and what to do about it) for smart advice on reassessing your branding and storytelling behind your company.
  • Neil Patel For more in-depth marketing knowledge, Neil’s blog is great. I particularly love the digital marketing and seo podcasts like this one on content marketing and his tips on SEO.
  • Thrive Global – Arianna Huffington’s venture to promote wellbeing and empowerment. Great for interesting reads and self-care tips. I love this; as someone who often catastrophises (if that’s even a word!)
  • Start Ups This website is a real find – full of great advice for start-ups including success stories, practical tips on branding, marketing and financial queries as well as. My favourite post is How to be a successful woman entrepreneur as well as info on groups and communities to join
  • 4 Hour work week by Tim Ferriss is great, he has interviewed some of the most successful figures of our times and really digs into what makes them tick. I love his interview with Debbie Millman, one of my absolute favourites.
  • Peter Shallard who models himself as the shrink for entrepreneurs. His site is a great resource for advice on business, wellness, how to beat anxiety and lots more. I love his piece on re-imagining the business/customer relationship

Thanks for reading! I hope you find these writers and business brains as helpful as I do, please comment with your favourite bloggers and entrepreneurs I would love to keep the conversation going.
