Deep dive: Courts started shaping the US presidential race long before Nov. 5. An extraordinary onslaught of cases filed over the past two years have questioned fundamental principles of who can vote, how ballots are cast, which votes count, and how the winner is decided. And they preview issues that could fuel the expected wave of legal action after polls close. https://lnkd.in/gccMDYTm

More voters are becoming concerned with Supreme Court actions. Although there is almost no chance for the House to impeach any Republican or conservative official prior to the general election, the question of impeachment and potential removal of certain individuals is definitely a meaningful issue for the election. If given a mandate for change by a general election, Democrats could make substantial change in the way our democracy works. On the converse, a major loss by the Democrats and even a loss by President Biden could have an adverse effect on democracy itself. #ussupremecourt #justicesystem #impeachment #elections2024 #balanceofpower #bidenharrisadministration https://lnkd.in/eXJjnMMc

Read about the recent Supreme Court decision on my blog. Essentially, the court ruled that states don't have the power to remove candidates in a federal election. And, enforcing the "insurrectionist" section of the 14th amendment, was sketchy and better left to congress to decide the laws on how it's enforced. Democratic congressman claims Electoral College 'can get you killed,' blames for Jan. 6 Capitol riot Two pertinent points. First, the federal government is not the agent of the people at large. It is a government of the states in the union. The President is elected by the states as prescribed in the Constitution. Second. the Constitution prescribes the process by which a President is selected. This cannot be changed by legislation at the state level, the federal level, or amongst compacts of states. It can be changed only by constitutional amendment as prescribed by the Constitution, something I would have expected s senior member of Congress to have known. So, if he wants the process changed, he needs to stop whining and start working on a constitutional amendment. https://lnkd.in/ezagJjRd

**BREAKING NEWS - SCOTUS DECIDES BALLOT ISSUE!!** The Supreme Court of the United States has decided (in a unanimous 9-0 majority) that the US Constitution is still the "Supreme Law of the Land." The American People are the final arbiter of who should be elected as the next President via free and fair elections. This is NOT about just one guy who you may love or hate (although one guy was the focus). It is about YOUR RIGHT to decide the future of YOUR nation. https://lnkd.in/g4c5QEGx HERE'S MY POINT. The US Constitution is the best, most fair and wise document pertaining to governance that has ever been written. It was intended to clearly define and limit the scope and powers of government. And at its basis, it protects the rights of every individual from the government, not vice versa. This is great news for ALL legal, hardworking, freedom-loving, taxpaying American citizens. Please share this with your network, my friends.

As the California poll results get updated, are prior ballot count updates still available? Ethics would require EVERY ballot count update have its own unique URL so voting tallies can be compared from any update to any other update. However, I am not sure prior ballot totals remain available for comparison. If various ballot update tallies are not available, that would be ethically and evaluatively unacceptable.

If Trump wins the election:? The takeaways? It would mean the Supreme Court has judged that a POTUS is above the law. Therefore free to campaign unhindered. And that he would be empowered to literally do anything, even ordering the elimination of critical persons, if he were so to choose. And be legally empowered to do so without recourse. He could also work to change the constitution? Work to imprison competitive politicians or their sponsors. Almost a copy book from Putin? Add further Supreme Court people when the opportunity arises.

KEY POINTS: Pro-Trump = Anti-Democracy (1) Trump and his allies tried to put forth “fake electors” to wrongfully claim victory on the 2020 election; (2) Now, criminal prosecutions in five crucial swing states are continuing to scrutinize the steps that he and his allies took in trying to circumvent the will of voters after the 2020 election. KEY EXCERPT: The investigations focus largely on the plan to deploy fake electors in states that Mr. Trump lost. Documents emerging from the state cases highlight divisions among Trump advisers after the 2020 election about whether to use hedging language in the phony certificates that they sent to Washington purporting to designate electoral votes for Mr. Trump. They also undercut claims by some Trump aides that they played little role in the fake-electors plan.

As election day approaches, voters should beware of constitutional amendments placed on the ballot by special interests. These initiatives receive little more than perfunctory vetting, contain confusing language, lack necessary definitions, lead to unnecessary litigation and invariably have unintended results. Voters should carefully scrutinize proposed language on the ballot.
