This is NOT a remote position. The ideal Technical Support Customer Representative will be the face of Fanimation to consumers, Dealers, and Agency partners. The Representative will have a strong mechanical aptitude and assist in solving simple to complex issues with fan installation and usage via Phone and email. Background in a call center, retail, or customer service required. What will you do: Respond and troubleshoot ceiling fan technical support via phone during the installation and operation of fans, including wiring, programming, and assembly. Assist and troubleshoot the programming of remote controls and receivers. Diagnose and resolve technical, mechanical, and electrical issues regarding fan usage. Interact with diverse customers and communicate technical information with various levels of knowledge. Receive, document, and respond to inbound customer inquiries. Assist customers with installation questions during the pre-sale buying process. Escalate emerging trends for team leaders. Process and resolve returns, recalls, shipment errors, backorders, order changes/cancelations, and pricing discrepancies. Input order information into ERP and review for accuracy. I’ve interviewed roughly 53 applicants for their final round in the past 3 weeks, have rolled offers to 8. Some key observations- 1. Rejected all candidates who don’t consume tasteful content 2. Surprisingly, 60% of hired folks are Bengalis and 30% are Malayalis 3. The TAT was roughly 25 days to close all offers. We’ve fairly cracked hiring (The Matar Collective community played a big role) 4. Most common test method used was - “find mistakes in this video”. Giving “tasks” never helps, increases TAT and makes the process cumbersome for both candidate and recruiter + managers 5. Proof of work was the true litmus test for all candidates, except a few candidates who had ambition/will to grow 6.
