Is Airless Tyre the Future of Mobility? 🛞✨ The air inside a tyre carries the load, and we all know a flat tyre gets you nowhere. 🚫 Engineers have long tried to avoid the problem of air loss with innovations like run-flat tyres and self-curing liquids. But one of the most revolutionary ideas is the *airless tyre*, first introduced by Michelin with the "Tweel." 🌀 Despite being introduced over 20 years ago, why hasn't the airless tyre gained widespread acceptance like radial tyres did in the 80s after 25 years of invention? 🤔 - Is the technology still not mature enough for the market? - Are tyre manufacturers reluctant to replace billions of dollars worth of production equipment? - Or is the focus now shifting towards sustainability instead of complete innovation?
