Over the past two days, the End Malaria Council and Zero Malaria Campaign Coalition and partners convened for a pivotal meeting led by the National Malaria Control Program -Kenya . This gathering was an opportunity to reflect on our collective progress as we approach the end of the year. Together, we developed a comprehensive roadmap to drive forward our national malaria priorities, with a strong focus on communication, advocacy, and resource mobilization. This collaborative effort continues to show the power of partnerships in the fight against malaria. By aligning our strategies and strengthening our commitments, we’re one step closer Zero Malaria #zeromalaria

SADC Malaria Day, 6 November SADC Malaria Day, observed on 6 November, holds significant importance as it highlights the region’s commitment to fight malaria. The Southern African Development Community, or SADC, observes this day to increase awareness of the disease, which continues to be a significant health concern in the area, especially in rural and underdeveloped areas. By observing a day dedicated to malaria, SADC highlights the value of early detection, prevention, and efficient treatment methods in an effort to lower the rate of the illness and eventually eliminate it. The World Health Organization supports the “Zero Malaria Starts with Me” campaign in partnership with the African Union Commission, the RBM Partnership to End Malaria, and other partner organizations. This community-based initiative aims to enable communities to take charge of malaria prevention and care, mobilise more resources, and maintain malaria at the forefront of political discourse.

Our work will evaluate the current demand, distribution cycles, and regulatory impacts, building on our ongoing partnership to strengthen malaria control in Nigeria. 📢 Quarterly Meeting of the Media Taskforce against Malaria in Cameroon 🦟 This June 6, 2024, in Yaounde, media professionals met to discuss media coverage efforts and communication support in the fight against malaria in Cameroon. The meeting was chaired by the Head of Communication of Ministère de la Santé Publique du Cameroun and organized by the National Malaria Control Program and Impact Santé Afrique, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and AJC Pro Santé. 📑 On the agenda: a review of the actions and progress made by the Media Taskforce, with a focus on the essential role of the media in a multi-sectoral approach of the fight against malaria. ✨ Key figure shared: Since the launch, members of the group have published around 3️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ articles on malaria. Media, on the front lines to #StopMalaria, play an important role in informing, raising awareness, and mobilizing 🇨🇲.

World Malaria Day, observed annually on April 25, serves as a global tribute to the collective endeavors to combat malaria. As stated by the World Health Organization (WHO) : - In 2022, there were 608,000 reported malaria-related fatalities - The year 2022 also witnessed 249 million new malaria cases. - A staggering 94% of all malaria incidents occurred within the WHO African Region. On this World Malaria Day, let us unite under the theme of "Accelerating the battle against malaria for a fairer world" by advocating for the provision of healthcare services closer to communities, thereby enhancing access through primary healthcare initiatives.
