At Zenyth, we know that true digital inclusivity goes beyond basic compliance. While usability focuses on how efficiently users interact with a platform, accessibility ensures that people with disabilities can use it effectively. Accessibility is a critical component of usability—without it, a site isn’t fully usable. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) provide a baseline for accessibility, but meeting these standards is just the beginning. To achieve genuine inclusivity, accessibility must be integrated from the start, not treated as an afterthought. At Zenyth, we help organizations move beyond mere compliance to create truly inclusive digital experiences. Learn more about the difference between usability and accessibility and how to make your digital platform accessible to everyone. 🌟 Collaborating for Accessibility! 🌟 At EE, we believe that everyone deserves seamless access to reliable services. That’s why this week we're excited to see some great teamwork across Marketing, Service Design (SD), User Research (UR), and more, as part of our #1 for Accessibility initiative. Over the last three days, we have conducted multiple end-to-end usability testing sessions with disabled customers. The User Research team expertly guided users through the complete "Get Broadband and Mobile" journey – from discovery and purchase to unboxing and setup. We regularly incorporate users with disabilities in our research, ensuring diversity is represented. However, this week’s sessions entirely focused on deaf, mobility, and dexterity users, aiming to identify barriers that exist within our journeys and better understand expectations around accessibility features. It was inspiring to see a full house in two observation rooms, with colleagues from across Consumer & Digital, Marketing, Brand, Product, Transformation, and Design coming together. A wonderful example of cross-functional collaboration, all with the shared goal of improving experiences for everyone. Through this research, we've gained invaluable insights into the challenges faced by our disabled customers. From navigating our website and app to the physical setup of devices, we listened closely to their feedback and are committed to making meaningful changes. Next steps are to begin collaborative analysis to align our understanding of issues then ideation and prioritisation. Shout-out to Polly Miller, Sarah Clarke, Katharine Johnson, Ellie Cowley, Pooja Trivedi, Matt Mansfield, Ronise Nepomuceno, MSc, Conor Ward for driving this forward. #AccessibilityMatters #UserResearch #InclusiveDesign #servicedesign #CrossFunctionalCollaboration #CustomerExperience

Why Accessibility is Crucial in Today’s World 🚨 Accessibility is not just about meeting legal requirements—it's about creating a world where everyone has equal access to information, services, and opportunities. Yet, there’s still a misconception that making things accessible is a burden or adds complexity to projects. Let’s change that narrative. Accessibility doesn’t have a negative connotation—it’s an essential element of inclusivity and innovation. By making products, websites, and services accessible, we’re not just accommodating disabilities; we’re enhancing the user experience for everyone. From better usability to more diverse perspectives, accessibility leads to richer interactions and greater customer satisfaction. It’s time to embrace accessibility as a positive, impactful part of design and development, not as an afterthought or a checkbox. When accessibility is prioritized from the start, we create solutions that benefit all users, not just a few. Let’s work together to break the stigma and build a more inclusive digital world! 🌍✨ #Accessibility #InclusiveDesign #UserExperience #DigitalInclusion #AccessibilityMatters #InclusiveTechnology #TechForGood

Defining Accessibility: Making It as Simple as 1, 2, 3! When we talk about accessibility, we often grapple with complex definitions and intricate details. However, Steve Tyler puts it succinctly: "Disability is the degree to which usability is affected by functional limitation or capability." With this understanding, our approach to resolving accessibility issues at AccessFirst should be straightforward and simple, like 1, 2, 3. Here’s what I mean: Identify - Recognise the diverse needs and barriers faced by users. Innovate - Develop solutions that are intuitive and inclusive. Implement - Ensure these solutions are easily accessible to all. Next month, I will introduce a new standard which will be delivered by AccessFirst, aiming to embody this simple yet effective philosophy. We believe that by following these steps, we can make significant strides in making every user’s experience seamless and inclusive. More to come as we strive to make accessibility as easy as counting 1, 2, 3! It's clear that accessibility is a moving target, but we should all strive for Accessibility by Design. This approach can only be effectively achieved by engaging with consumers to ensure their needs and experiences are at the forefront of our solutions. This was a key point in my discussion today with my colleague, Steve Tyler. Let's continue to push for a future where accessibility is embedded in every aspect of society, benefiting everyone and fostering true inclusion. Thank you again for raising these important points and for your dedication to this cause. #Accessibility #Innovation #UserExperience #AccessFirst #EnhancedAccessibility #SeeBeyond #AccessibiltyByDesign #WeAreBillionStrong
