One Tuesday afternoon, following my final presentation at university, it was over. I was a fresh-faced engineering graduate with no specific prospects. I had now joined the class of pre-employed graduates and job seekers trying to forge their path through various industries. I was a good student, annoyingly persistent in taking up challenges, willing to learn, and appreciative of the unconventional. During adolescence, being overlooked had provided me with the freedom to pursue any path, transforming low expectations into opportunities for self-reinvention. My first interview at Schneider Electric, signalled a pivotal moment in my life. I instantly knew I was in the right place. Long story short, I got the job as Graduate Trainee, Industry Automation. This graduate role at Schneider Electric has pushed me beyond my limits and challenged me in unexpected ways. Being inquisitive and sometimes bold has allowed me to connect with a wide range of incredible individuals from all corners of the globe and to learn from them. This created a shift in my mindset and allowed me to start thinking differently. Naturally, there were moments where doubt and the imposter syndrome crept in. However, with support from my managers and the resources provided by the company to prioritize my mental health - an important topic and journey for me – I was able to approach my work with greater focus and a clearer mind. #SchneiderElectric has gifted me the opportunity to cultivate my surroundings, take up space, and smartly navigate my way through business units that I find interesting.
