If you want to measure the ‘true’ ROI of high intent PPC campaigns, negative out your brand name. Why? Because your ads will show to people that have searched for your brand name, even if you haven’t specifically included it in an ad group. People searching for brand name + high intent modifier (services, software, solution etc) already know about you and are looking for your website. You want them to click on the ‘free’ organic result rather than a paid ad. Don’t pay Google for a visit you can get for free! Google Ads is a sly fox and will throw in a few brand search terms and take credit for the conversion. When the credit should be given to marketing strategies that have increased brand awareness beforehand. If you want to measure the true impact of a ‘high intent’ campaign in Google Ads, negative out brand. And use a separate brand campaign for your business name. Because brand conversions should be judged using different criteria to non-brand conversions. What do you think? #ppc #b2bmarketing
