Dining in Dubai - an adventure in itself! I'm not sure there's a city on earth that boasts the grandeur in new openings, innovation in decor and plating in cuisine than #Dubai. Being back in town is always a gift as I get to play catch up with what's new on the hospitality and dining scene. This friends, is the African Queen Restaurant, located Dubai's J1 Beach District. I caught wind of the name, and so had to go check it out, expecting a contemporary take on Tshisa Nyama, Jollof Rice, Chakalaka, Targine and all such dishes synonymous with African dishes on these ends. But. The cuisine was far from African-inspired. Rather, the restaurant blends Southern Mediterranean cuisine with African-inspired décor, offering guests the perfect combination of tradition and contemporary. The menu showcases the best of French Riviera classics, elevated with vibrant flavours, and dishes are crafted to evoke a sense of nostalgia while introducing unexpected elements that will surprise and delight even the most discerning palates. Needless to say, I loved my time spent there. Let me add, that the settings are outstanding, and perfect should be looking to combine great company, an exquisite dining experience and spectacular views of the Persian Gulf.
