📢 On 15 November, NIA Interim Director General Sean Kelly attended the inaugural meeting of the Technology Council for Advanced Materials in Brussels. As an official representative, NIA ensured the nanotechnology community's voice was heard in shaping Europe's strategy for advanced materials. The Council, chaired by DG GROW and DG RTD, focuses on aligning efforts across Europe to accelerate the development and deployment of advanced materials. We are excited to announce that BNN - BioNanoNet met with members of the #ECHA nano team to discuss crucial domains in nanomaterials’ safety and sustainability. During a productive bilateral training session at the ECHA premises in Helsinki, our team from BNN provided insights derived from our involvement in EU-funded HORIZON Europe and H2020 research projects, with particular emphasis on Safe-and-Sustainable-by-Design (#SSbD) of nanomaterials. In a dynamic discussion we addressed both opportunities and challenges.     Exchanges like these fosters proactively approaches enabling the responsible development and use of nanotechnology.
