🌍 In a world striving for profound change, the vision of a future defined by Three Zeros — zero poverty, zero unemployment, and zero carbon net emissions — can only be realized through the power of social business. Inspired by Professor Muhammad Yunus, we understand that our shared goals are far more significant than any individual success. 🤝 At the heart of this movement is the belief that collaboration, rather than competition, holds the key to unlocking transformative solutions. We view similar organizations not as rivals, but as allies in a collective mission. By combining our strengths and resources, we can amplify our impact, drive innovation, and create a sustainable future for all. 💡 Imagine a world where social enterprises unite to tackle pressing challenges together—where every collaboration leads to meaningful change, fostering an ecosystem that nurtures creativity and resilience. In this space, there’s enough room for everyone to thrive, and together, we can build a new paradigm that prioritizes people and the planet. 🌟 By working hand in hand, we can turn the dream of a world with zero poverty, zero carbon emissions and zero unemployment into a tangible reality. Join us in this movement toward a brighter, more equitable future! ✨ Let’s hear from you! Does your company implement collaboration strategies for a bigger purpose? What experiences do you have with social innovation? Share your thoughts in the comments!

🌍 Making Lasting Change: An Example From Venezuela 🌍 In a world where systems seem stuck and progress can feel slow, it’s easy to wonder—how can we make real change? The Catalyst 2030 Impact Report tells us exactly how - through collaboration. One story that really moved me was the New Longevity Network in Venezuela. With over 8 million elderly people left behind due to mass emigration, the situation is dire—many older adults live without family support or access to a reliable pension or healthcare. But instead of accepting this as the status quo, Catalyst 2030 members built a network to address the issue. They brought together local governments, businesses, social entrepreneurs, and global partners like Ashoka and the Inter-American Development Bank. Through international events and cross-border collaboration, they’ve influenced national policy, making elderly care a priority in Venezuela’s humanitarian aid plan. They've mobilized over £2.8 million in emergency and long-term projects, impacting thousands of lives directly. This isn’t just about policy—it’s about people. Through livelihoods programs and healthcare initiatives, they’ve supported 138 older adults in entrepreneurship and provided preventive care to 1,200 older adults annually. It's proof that when we come together across sectors, we don’t just talk about change—we make it happen. If you’re looking for inspiration on how collaboration can shift systems and transform lives, this is it. Check out the full report—it’s full of stories like this one. My inbox is open if you want to start a collaboration or join Catalyst 2030's incredible movement. https://lnkd.in/gAcjN8Vn --- Hi, I’m Avani, and I write about community, life experiences, and synchronicity. Let’s talk about how we can collaborate for meaningful change. 🔥 We are here to change the world. May the bridges we burn light the way. 🔥

🚀"Future-Making" for Social Impact🌎 The concept known as "future-making," is increasingly recognized as a crucial element in driving #social #innovation and necessary #systems #change. Danielle Logue delivers an insightful article for the #Stanford #Social #Innovation #Review on this matter. 📢The Need for Diverse Voices in Future-Making A critical point raised is the limited attention given to where and how these collective images of the future emerge, and who is shaping them. The article questions whether we should rely solely on influential figures like Elon Musk to define our future. Instead, it advocates for a broader, more inclusive approach to future-making to drive social innovation and systems change. Defining Future-Making - Conceptual Approaches to Future-Making 1️⃣ Pragmatist Inquiry: Engaging with representations of the future through narratives, visuals, and other media to make the future accessible in the present. This helps participants develop and act towards their preferred futures. 2️⃣ Possibilistic Thinking: Systematically deconstructing and interrogating the assumptions underlying existing solutions to develop new possibilities. This approach involves broadening attention to long-term horizons and interdependent systems while focusing on local anomalies. Rethinking the Future. Strategies for Social Innovators ⭐Create Alternative Imagined Futures: Engage with diverse sources, such as community forums, public debates, and science fiction, to explore and legitimize alternative futures. This encourages innovative ideas and solutions beyond conventional boundaries. ⭐Legitimize Imagined Futures: Involve a diverse range of stakeholders to build credibility and legitimacy for imagined futures. Utilize digital platforms for broader engagement and consider social proof to support material proof when necessary. ⭐Take Action Towards Alternative Futures: Reflect backwards from an imagined future to identify pathways and interrogate present conditions that hinder its realization. This backward mapping can help scale alternative futures effectively. 👉Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/evBTDXMP #FutureMaking #SocialImpact #Innovation #SystemsChange #OrganizationalStrategy #InclusiveFutures

Embracing Complexity: The Power of Both/And Thinking 🧩🔍 In our rapidly changing world, binary thinking falls short. Both theologians and social sector leaders emphasize nuanced approaches: —Moving beyond "us vs. them" mentalities 🤝 —Recognizing interconnectedness of social issues 🕸️ —Balancing immediate needs with long-term systemic change ⚖️ Benefits of integrative thinking: —More holistic problem-solving 🧠 —Increased collaboration across sectors 🤝 —Sustainable, multifaceted solutions 🌱 How can we activate this kind of thinking in our organizations? Could it lead to more effective philanthropy and social change? 💡 #ComplexityThinking #IntegrativeApproaches #SystemicChange

I still recall my first introduction to collective impact as a framework. It scratched an itch I didn't even know I had -- one of structure, logic and intentionality. But now that I've actually worked with a number of collective impact projects, I know that what works on paper doesn't necessarily translate into success during implementation. If you're wondering why our company has gone all-in on collaboration, some of the reasons are outlined in this piece. We think there are ways to save collective impact from itself, and have built a digital platform to do the work that seems to be missing from the equation -- the creation of social cohesion. Give it a read and comment below to share if it resonates with you. #socialinnovation #collectiveimpact
Depending on who you ask, the collective impact model is either the greatest thing since sliced bread, or as stale as a day-old loaf of bread. In this essay by Next Stage's CEO, Josh makes an argument for why collective impact should be given another chance... with some modifications to help it along. It is a call-to-action to strengthen "belonging at the intersection of social good," which is our company's new purpose statement. Check it out and weigh in below - what are your thoughts on the collective impact model?

What does it mean to adopt a social impact mindset and how does it help organizations thrive in uncertain times? Across various sectors and geographic regions, multi-national corporations, STEM Societies, industry and professional associations, academic institutions and other affiliated groups are adopting a social impact perspective to differentiate their brands, engage members, grow revenue, open new lines of business, attract and retain top talent, and reshape adversarial regulatory relationships. In The Business of Impact, we see social impact as fundamental to organizational performance and a central part of a holistic purpose strategy that leverages the organization’s expertise to address unmet societal needs. We offer this framework to help you discover the value of having a social impact attitude by shifting your thinking: FROM a perspective that views social impact as exclusive from profitability ➡ ➡ ➡ TO the understanding that impact often reinforces and increases financial performance. FROM a risk-adverse investment posture ➡ ➡ ➡ TO one that assesses and defines an informed level of ROI. FROM acting on a variety of well-meaning initiatives ➡ ➡ ➡ TO driving transformative change on core priorities. FROM solely focusing on defending an industry or protecting a profession ➡ ➡ ➡ TO broadening external cross-sector collaborations for the common good. FROM being reactive to change ➡ ➡ ➡ TO proactively leveraging strengths and pursuing new opportunities that will position organizations for the future. The world is inherently uncertain and there is no full proof way to manage it. Nonetheless, incorporating a social impact perspective into your organization’s business strategy can bring a renewed sense of purpose, offering a distinctive advantage to achieve greater success and significance. Personally, learning to navigate the unpredictability of my health journey these past two years has fueled my growth, realizing that uncertainty offers the opportunity for life to go in different directions, and that is exciting. #ChemE #Corporatesocialresponsibility #Innovation #Manufacturing #Engineering #STEM #Socialimpact #Philanthropy
