This is a great overview breaking down some of the key areas of healthcare that can benefit from utilizing AI. AI can reducing Administrative Burden (documentation, coding, in-take, referrals, etc.) on clinicians so they can spend more quality time with their patients. Additionally, AI's efficiency in parsing the data from these activities and guiding/suggesting the 'next best step' for that particular patients care journey helps to ensure that we are treating the whole patient not just their individual in-the-moment ailment. Many advances have been made in capturing and parsing the data to gain insights, but that data cannot make a meaningful impact if clinical teams do not have the capacity to help the patient in following through on that next best step in their health journey. I believe hybrid models where there is a symbiotic relationship between AI and human intervention is key at this point to ensure trust which is key in gaining the most value from AI deployment. Cutting edge technology is only useful if it can be trusted, if clinicians and patients use it, and if it is easy and efficient to deploy.
