Yesterday was Democracy Day, and we got different perspective on what democracy means. Democracy allows the people to have a voice in their society. It gives everyone the right to freedom of speech, fair representation, and peaceful change of leaders. But democracy is more than just voting. It means protecting civil rights, defending the minority from unfair treatment, and making sure leaders are held accountable and transparent with information. A strong democracy helps citizens be well-informed. It lets people discuss important issues freely. Together, citizens can decide the future direction of their nation. We must recognize that with democracy's great power comes great responsibility. Democracy is not just a system, but an ongoing ideal. It requires citizens to remain vigilant and involved for democracy to survive and thrive. 🇳🇬
