Reset Sundays. This Sunday is a different feel from the past 2 Sundays. Today parents have to organize their child/children school things as well as prepare for the work week. This can be pretty daunting wouldn't you say? Getting back into a routine can feel exhausting and hard but it's like riding a bike once you get on muscle memory kicks in. Cut yourself some slack, if you left something undone. Peace of mind and rest is also an important part to starting a new week. Take that need break, read a few pages of that book, colour a new drawing, light a candle, munch in that favourite snack. You deserve it. Self care is not only about spa dates, vacations/staycations. A 20 minute reset of the mind is good self care as well. Have a ScentSational week.

We often discuss work-life integration, but many of us still push through the week just to enjoy the weekend, thinking that’s what work-life harmony is. Yet studies reveal that those who integrate work and leisure during the weekdays experience higher satisfaction and less burnout. This is a small reminder that instead of waiting for Friday, you should make every day count by: 1) Adding small joys to your weekdays, whether it's a brief walk, a coffee break with a friend, or time spent on a hobby. 2) Creating routines that energize you to keep your mind and body active, such as regular exercising or creative activities. 3) Planning mid-week meet-ups to refresh your perspective and help prevent that weekend-only recharge cycle. 4) Taking time to review your priorities, which can help you refocus and stay motivated. Acknowledging this overlap can help us realize that integrating both can lead to a more fulfilling and balanced life experience. These small changes can make a big difference. Give them a try to help avoid burnout.

Glorifying Overwork- Is it actually justified?? One of the growing trends that is being observed lately on social media is glorification of Overwork/ Overburdening of Employees. Not just in the Legal Sector but pretty much in every sector the CEOs of big companies are teaching you the importance of hard work beyond limits of time and work life balance. Social Media influencers are making videos as to why the work week should be of 70 Hours per week. But is it actually needed? Especially at the cost of all your mental peace, your hobbies, the family time you spend, the time that you spend on yourself and your growth, be it physical, mental or intellectual. At the end of the day we should not forget that the ultimate purpose of work is money and the ultimate purpose of money is happiness. Be it through safety and security that the money provides or be it through the joy of being able to achieve materialistic pleasures. Let's just not sacrifice our joy for the sake of Overwork. Let's promote work life balance instead of exploitation in the name of Hard-work.

3 Easy tips to Return to Work with a Positive Mindset After Vacations After a restful and rejuvenating vacation, it can be challenging to get back into the swing of work. However, maintaining a positive mindset during this transition is key for both your productivity and overall wellbeing. 1. **Reflect on Vacation Learnings**: Think about insights, perspectives or practices you gained during your time off. How could you apply these to improve your work life balance or approach your job with more intention? Integrating vacation learnings can boost your mindset and productivity. 2. **Cultivate Gratitude**: Rather than dwelling on having to be back at work, focus on appreciating the opportunity. Make a list of things you're grateful for about your job, such as supportive colleagues, interesting projects or the ability to use your skills. Gratitude can shift your outlook in a positive direction. 3. **Set Manageable Goals**: Try to establish reasonable, achievable goals for your first week back. Having a clear sense of priorities will help you feel grounded and in control as you readjust. Enjoy when you can Work with passion #raisingawareness #holisticapproch #wellness #workwithpassion

I feel like it doesn't get said enough, so I'll say it: work-life balance is hard. I see a lot of people post about how they have it figured out. How they choose to spend more time with their family. How they always log off at 5:00 PM. How they never let anything get in the way of their family responsibilities. I'm sorry, but I don't buy it. I just finished my second month of Parental Leave (big shout out to Germany and Maltego Technologies for creating an environment where I feel supported to do this), and I loved the time that I got to spend with my family. Having a full month off like this is, well, easy. I don't have to worry about anything because no one expects anything from me. But that isn't the case in the day-to-day. Emergencies happen. Direct Reports have issues. Customers are unhappy. On-site training is necessary. And you know what? Sometimes those things feel like they need to come first. Do I like it? Of course not. But I have always been someone who gives 100% when it comes to my career. I enjoy that part of my life. I like feeling valuable and integral to my team and company's success. And I don't want to give that up. I love my family. I love my work. I love my life. I do my best to keep those things balanced, but it isn't easy, at least not for me. How do you balance work and life? Do you have it all figured out? Tips and advice are welcome! #worklifebalance

Afternoon thought on a Saturday… As I process my last work week going into a week of vacation I’m left wondering… Did I leave it “all” on the table? Did I make the correct calls, decisions, interactions? Or do I have opportunity? Pondering those questions…. Work is important however the life balance is something that keeps me grounded. Every afternoon I come home and ground with my family, animals, land and God. Resetting everyday before another work day improves morale and life. Do we work to retire? Do we work to go on vacation? Live for the weekends? Dread Monday’s? Sunday nights before the work week? Why live like that? Do life different. After a tornatic 2023, do something done different?! Praising God but worries to say it at work? Conforming to the everyday instead of being different? Helping others instead of turning away? Connecting stronger instead of shallow conversations. Ask someone how there day is going? Say kind gestures. Have a great weekend, Good morning. Amazingly emails that are sent with Team, instead of single line emails bring people together. Being a leader takes more than pride and self promotion. It takes humility, admitting when you’ve made mistakes and growing from it. Caring for people may take energy, effort and time but it’s worth it. Keeping in touch with that old boss that taught you much, is worth it. LinkedIn family I’m checking out for the week. Celebrating 20 years with my beautiful bride and reflecting on the past but focusing on the future. We are celebrating our anniversary by going on a cruise. Take time to CLOSE your eyes and LISTEN to the world around you. This video is a sunrise in my backyard. Try it and make a difference! Have a great week! #Blessed # LivelifeDaily #Imout
