THE BREATH DURING MEDITATION During regular meditation, new grooves / neuro pathways are formed in the brain and the mind moves upwards into those new spiritual grooves. When the mind becomes steady in meditation, the eye movement also becomes steady. A Yogi whose mind is calm will have steady eye movement. There will be no blinking at all during meditation. When open, the eyes will be lustrous red or pure white. When you enter into very deep, silent meditation, the breath will not forcefully come out of the nostrils. The breath is barely noticeable. There may be occasional slow movement of the lungs and the abdomen. From the nature of the breathing, you can infer the degree of concentration of an aspirant. Watch the breath very carefully.

June's topic: Serenity ******* 5. Step 3: Meditation As we are sure you know, dear Green Heart Warriors, meditation lies at the heart of Zen practice. It involves sitting quietly, observing your thoughts without judgment, and gently bringing your focus back to your breath whenever your mind wanders. Begin with just a few minutes each day and gradually increase the duration. This practice, even if its just for a few minutes, can help regain deep inner peace and clarity. Don't just trust us, try as well ;).

Chalice Heart Meditation: Deepening awareness leads to awakening and maintaining a continuity of the heart. Meditation offers a way to meet all that arises with mercy and clarity, transcending conditioned patterns of the mind. It is about entering consciousness directly, letting go of suffering, and embracing the freedom inherent in our true nature. It is a deep seeing of what turns pain to suffering. So, we explore the mind, not to master it so much as to not be mastered by it. Through meditation, we make peace with the mind rather than waging war against it. Heart Blessings!

In Rupert's latest guided meditation he explores the primordial word ‘I’, or the knowledge ‘I am’ in each of us, and how it relates to infinite consciousness and the finite mind. Watch it here on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/e9zpvdjv

Excellent advice Beth Younkin! Meditation can: - Reduce Stress and Anxiety - Improve Focus and Attention - Promote Self-Compassion and Empathy If you go to therapy, GREAT! If you have peer groups of support, FANTASTIC! If you work out, WAY TO GO! Meditation can be a positive addition to those (think of it as oxygen to the body and mental support for the mind, but through a different way). The benefits are truly endless. If you think it would feel funny or be weird to meditate, GOOD! There's a book for you: Just Sit: A Mediation Guidebook for People Who Know They Should But Don't by Sukey & Elizabeth Novogratz - they think it's funny too but that doesn't stop them from doing it (or teaching it in this book). If you aren't much into books, try the Calm app. Either one will teach you (or build on your practice). Casey Martin would be able to tell (and teach) you so much more at www.SeedYogaOhio.org <3 *Happy Meditating!*

I always felt called to meditate but never thought I was good at it because my brain never got quiet. In the beginning, I needed to listen to a guided meditation to get my brain to quiet. Once I found one I loved, I listened daily Here are 3 things I started to do to enjoy my meditation more! 1. Get comfy! I love to lay down with a blanket on my back. 2. Use eye covers if your eyes open and wonder. I love mine! It smells like lavender. 3. Use earbuds. This is a very personal experience. It may not be a good idea to play it on your Alexa throughout the house! After a good meditation, I may journal or take a shower. You can do whatever you feel called to do.

In the Vairagya Bhairav Tantra, Lord Shiva shares a meditation technique to help you feel weightless, leading to a deeper connection with your true self and freeing your mind from physical limitations. Here's how to practice it: Sit in Siddhasana: Sit cross-legged on natural ground with your spine straight. Avoid using chairs or cement floors. If possible, sit on the earth itself, as close to nature as you can get. Balance Your Body: Close your eyes and gently lean in different directions to feel the pull of gravity. Find the position where you feel the least pull and settle there. Focus on Weightlessness: Imagine your body becoming weightless. Keep feeling this lightness, and eventually, you'll realize you're not just your body—you're something beyond it. Regular practice can help you transcend physical and mental boundaries, leading to profound experiences like deep meditation and a sense of freedom from your physical self.

The Art of Visualisation. Meditation to be most effective requires first that the eyes be closed. Then slow the breathing process by taking three deep breaths. Blank your mind of intrusive thought. See a void of blackness fill the vision. Introduce into the blankness of the dark void a funnelling of Love energy coming from above. It will appear in the form of nothingness, which means it is invisible to sight though subtly audible to sensitive ears. Feel the surrounding blackness then start to break it apart and allow it to recede as Love absorbs the darkness in the soul and light cascades from out of the seeming nothingness. Take time coming out of the meditation slowly. Angelcare Divinewomanhood.com.

Does meditation mean that we become free from all thoughts? Some people have this idea that our thoughts are the cause of our troubles and the way to become peaceful is by becoming free from all thought and therefore even when they practice meditation, they think that the purpose of meditation is to stop all thought. However, such a conception arises from a misunderstanding that thought is a characteristic of our conditioned mind. However, thought is a characteristic of our spiritual essence, our soul itself. So, meditation is about turning off the mind so that we can turn on the soul – so that mundane thoughts stop and divine thoughts begin.
