Huge thank you to Dr. Eric Hequet and the Office of Research and Innovation at Texas Tech University, for inviting me to speak at the AI Symposium - https://lnkd.in/ep2zY-qE - on the `trivial` topic of “Future-Proofing Humanity: Navigating AI’s Ethical and Social Impact” no less! It was great to be back at my alma mater after nearly 17 years, sharing my experience and views on AI, from the fictional “The Great Automatic Grammatizator” to the real societal impacts of AI today, re-skilling to keep up with those changes, and prudent regulation mechanisms to ensure safe and open development without stifling innovation. To share it at the place that laid the foundation for my work in the field made it even more special. It was great to hear from lawmakers and other industry leaders on how they are preparing for the ways in which AI is upending our lives, and to share with them all the ways in which we are incorporating practical AI into our Tech and Creative stack here at TripleLift. As a proud alumnus, it was even more fantastic to hear from educators, on how they have quickly adapted to learning and teaching AI skills, and from researchers on how they have been applying AI, and its older, semantically similar, cousin - Machine Learning - to solving real-world problems in Agriculture, Bio-sciences, Aerospace, Defense, Education and Research. Thank you again, and here's to the future of learning! #ContinuousLearning

🎉 I’m happy to share that I’ve successfully completed the "AI Awakening: Implications for the Economy and Society" course from Stanford University!! Led by Professor Erik Brynjolfsson from Stanford University, and featuring expert guest speakers such as Mustafa Suleyman (Founder of Inflection.AI), Eric Schmidt (Former CEO of Google), Laura Tyson (Professor at UC Berkeley & Former Director of the National Economic Council), Bindu Reddy (CEO and Co-Founder of Abacus.AI), Mira Murati (CTO of OpenAI), and Jack Clark (Co-founder of Anthropic), explained the deep transformative impact of Generative AI on industries, economic and societies. ✨ Key takeaways include understanding the economic shifts driven by AI, the evolving workforce dynamics, and the ethical challenges we face as these technologies progress. 🚀 I’ll continue exploring the future of AI,how it will impact us all and apply these insights. #AI #GenerativeAI #StanfordUniversity #TechInnovation #AIImpact

Thrilled to share another achievement of my academic journey: I received the "Exemplary Work" distinction for my capstone project at MIT xPro. This recognition is a testament to the power of successfully combining theoretical knowledge with practical application in Artificial Intelligence (AI). As most people who know me expect of me, I threw myself deep into AI's intricacies to understand various models and theories of this revolutionary technology. With its nuanced approach to defining AI problems, the Lawler Model was optimal because of its relevance and applicability in today's fast-evolving tech landscape. It provided a robust framework to conceptualize and summarize a hyper-innovative AI product to address a contemporary issue in our digital future. Thank you to my mentors, peers, and the MIT Emeritus team for their guidance and encouragement. The journey continues, and I'm curious to see what the future holds for us. #ArtificialIntelligence #MITEmeritus #LawlerModel #Innovation #Technology

I’m making my way through Elon Musk’s three recommended books on AI and finished this week “Human Compatible: Artificial Intelligence and the Problem of Control" by Stuart Russell—a very interesting book. It’s written by an AI specialist, renowned computer scientist, and UC Berkeley faculty with at least three decades of experience. (So a leading authority on AI and someone worth listening to.) I like that Dr. Russell is bringing elements of solutions to beneficial AI. He is an advocate for bringing uncertainty in the control of AI so that AI (in case of doubt) asks its master for confirmation or allows the master to switch off the machine altogether. Otherwise, machines competing with each other becomes very tough and puts the humans overseeing the machines out of the loop—which I think nobody wants. We definitely want control over the machines. This work feels timely because of AI’s very fast progress. Let’s make sure we don’t get overruled in our haste to harness this technology. I’m highly recommending this book for a vision to ensure a future with AI beneficial for humanity. #stuartrussell #humancompatible #ucberkeley #AIfuture #provablybeneficialAI #datascience #towardsdatascience

OpenAI's Chief Technology Officer MIRA MURATI: "some creative jobs maybe will go away, but maybe they shouldn't have been there in the first place" what ?? 😵 In these times, a few young tech enthusiasts like her are envisioning our future. Much like the #AI they are developing, their cultural background and personal #ethics will play a significant role (glad and proud that Padre Paolo Benanti is handling this crucial aspect on our behalf). Additionally, their #technology will ultimately be dominated by those with very! deep pockets. Since the advent of the #internet, some #educational experts have argued that critical thinking skills among #students are declining, partly due to the rise of #digital media and the reduction in traditional reading and learning methods. 😕 Although #ignorance is now a choice rather than a status, I struggle to understand why AI experts claim that AI will make us more creative. 😕 Check her words out: *"It's actually very difficult to commercialise AI technology" *"GPT3 was a toddler level intelligence. GPT4 are more like smart high schooler intelligence. In the next couple of years we are looking at PhD intelligence" *"more people will become more creative thanks to this tool" *"jobs like QA and testing codes are done" ***thanks to D WebStudio for the insight*** https://lnkd.in/dB684bV9

𝐀𝐈 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟑 𝐬𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 I came across this mind-blowing interview with Yuval Noah Harari, the author of over a dozen best-selling books, including the most recently published, “Nexus: A Brief History of Information Networks from the Stone Age to AI”. Unlike conspiracy theories around AI, his insights are simple, logical and yet, nothing short of revelations. From among the plethora of unique perspectives he shared, here are the observations I found most pertinent to three predominant spheres of our lives… • 𝑶𝒏 𝒂𝒏 𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒅𝒖𝒂𝒍 𝒍𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒍: We all need to go on an ‘Information diet’; choose what we feed our minds and, like food, ‘more’ is not necessarily ‘better’. • 𝑰𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒉 𝒔𝒑𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆: We are headed for a world with millions and millions of AI bureaucrats in banks, governments, armies, schools, workplaces, etc., that will make decisions about us. Essentially, these programs will decide who should get loans, admissions to schools/colleges, jobs, etc. Now that’s an existential threat; not the Hollywood scenario of a single evil computer trying to take over the world. • 𝑨𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒈𝒖𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚/𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝒍𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒍: As we head into the AI revolution with its ocean of fake and junk information, we need strong institutions with mechanisms that decide for us what is reliable and what is unreliable. And finally, his message of hope was: While AI has not reached its full potential, neither have human beings. We have to invest at least as much in exploring and developing our minds as we do in advancing AI tech and we’ll be ok.
