Jakob Nielsen's words struck a chord with me during a recent adplist.org webinar: 'A lot of companies don't do UX because it's expensive. Make it cheaper and people will do more UX.' Hearing a UX pioneer say this made me realise the extent to which UX is marginalised. Here we are, evangelising the power of user-centred design, wielding data-driven insights like Excaliburs, ready to slay user frustration and confusion. Yet, decades after the birth of UX, we're stuck peddling our services in a market obsessed with quick wins. The true cost? A sea of confusing products and lost customers. UX, the innovation engine, sits dormant. Affordable, effective #UX is no longer a thing of the future; it’s a necessity for businesses and everyone using digital products!

🔄 UX Tip: Don't Just Design for Completion—Design for Continuation A key UX insight I've gained is that our work doesn't end at the completion of a task; it’s about supporting what comes next in the user journey. Think of actions like account sign-up or purchase confirmation. Instead of a simple “You’re done!” message, guide users forward. Maybe it's a tutorial, related features, or personalized content to explore. By designing with “What’s next?” in mind, we keep users engaged and offer them real value beyond just completing tasks. Remember, great UX is about nurturing long-term interaction, not just one-time success. 🌟 #UserJourney #UXInsights #ContinuousEngagement #ProductDesign #UserExperience

Creating a customer journey map for UX design involves several steps: follow Design Media #uipathcommunity #uidesign #uiux #ui
User journeys offer valuable insights into the user experience and guide the creation of intuitive and user-centric products. 🌟 By mapping out the steps, interactions, and emotions users go through, they provide us with a holistic understanding of the entire user experience: 👉 User journeys foster empathy, allowing us to step into the shoes of the users. Understanding the user's emotions, expectations, and goals at each stage of their journey helps us empathise with their needs. 👉They provide a strategic framework for decision-making throughout the design process. Designers can leverage user journey insights to prioritise features, allocate resources, and align design decisions with user goals. 👉User journeys help identify pain points and areas of friction within the user experience. By visualising the user's path and interactions, we can pinpoint specific touchpoints where users might encounter challenges or frustrations. How to Create Effective User Journeys: 1️⃣ Research: Conduct user research to gather insights about your target audience. 2️⃣ Define User Personas: Create user personas that represent different user archetypes based on your research findings. 3️⃣ Map the Journey: Visualise the user journey by identifying key touchpoints, actions, and emotions at each stage. Use techniques like storyboarding, flowcharts, or diagrams. 4️⃣ Validate: Test and validate your user journey maps with real users. Gather feedback and iterate on the design accordingly. 5️⃣ Collaborate: Combined efforts provide different perspectives and ensure that the user journey aligns with business goals and technical feasibility. In your UX design process, do you utilise user journey mapping? 💭 Share your experiences in the comments! ⬇ #uiux #uxdesign #uxcommunity #productdesign #uidesign #userinterface #userjourney ----------- Image credits: Nielsen Norman Group

Is UX just a BUZZ 🐝 word now days....... UX isn't just about making things look good; 😎 it's about crafting experiences that resonate with users on a deeper level. 💡 In today's digital landscape, the user experience can make or break a product. It's not enough to have a functional interface; it needs to be intuitive, seamless, and delightful to truly captivate users. Here are a few of my thoughts on why UX matters more than ever: 1️⃣ Empathy in Design: Understanding the user's needs, frustrations, and motivations is at the core of great UX. By walking in their shoes, we create solutions that truly solve their problems. 2️⃣ Driving Engagement: A well-designed UX doesn't just facilitate tasks; it creates an emotional connection. When users feel heard and valued, they're more likely to engage, return, and become advocates. 3️⃣ Personalised Experiences: Tailoring the user journey based on preferences, behavior, and history creates a sense of individuality. From personalized recommendations to adaptive interfaces, users feel seen and understood. 4️⃣ Business Impact: Let's not forget the bottom line. Studies consistently show that investing in UX brings tangible returns. From increased conversion rates to reduced support costs, it's an investment in success. 💬 I'd love to hear your thoughts! How have you seen UX transform a product or service? What are some key elements you think define a remarkable user experience? 💬 #UXDesign #UserExperience #DesignThinking #EmpathyInDesign #DigitalTransformation
