When the FRIEND token became claimable last month, daily fees on the friend.tech network spiked to $1.2M and reached more than $2M on the week with over 15,000 daily active users (the most since October). More recently, however, daily fees have declined to just $1,500 - $8,700 with generally less than 200 users per day. Yet with the announcement of Friendchain and the use of FRIEND as a gas token for the network, daily active users have just surged 2400% with daily fees increasing by 50%. It's always interesting when a protocol launches its own native chain and when new objective function is added to an existing token. h/t Token Terminal

All the web3 liquidity is about to flow into BASE But what even is BASE?? In short, it's a Layer 2 built by Coinbase (a CEX) And since non-native web3 users love CEX's it might just be key into onboarding a whole lot of new liquidity into the more "degen" market. With "degen" I'm referring to the memecoins, low cap utility coins, presales etc. Coinbase plays perfectly into this narrative by developing several wallet solutions that make it easy for devs to create simplified onboarding experiences for "normies" (the non-native web3 users). AKA, the plan is to send all the "normies" from Coinbase to the BASE L2. They will basically be using an L2 without even knowing it. Oh and guess what.... as of 2024 Coinbase has 98 million users worldwide. Bullish on BASE yet?
