This is how stackoverflow traffic declined after the ChatGPT launch. 👇 ChatGPT killed multiple business including Chegg - an education company. Once their stock was traded for $100 which is now around $1.7. Who do you think is in the queue to become the next victim of AI developments? I could imagine there being a return swing of the pendulum where we seek the unique problem-solving abilities of humans again.

This curve will flatten out and going forward the content on stackoverflow will be higher quality. Why? 1.People will default to ChatGPT. 2. If people can get answers from chat-gpt they won’t use stack overflow. 3. But if ChatGPT can’t help then they turn to Stackoverflow with their harder question. 4. So we will have lower volume but higher quality on the platform. 5. And the 🤖 systems can still learn.
I'm constantly seeing how ChatGPT is : -> KILLING the deep thinking abilities of students (and of people general) -> making them more LAZY Machines are more and more smart <- GOOD People are more and more lazy and stupid <- SAD & BAD
I wonder how many people like me who's neither an investor nor an account user of either ChatGPT or Chegg, but have recently completed two masters degrees from a U.S. public research university nevertheless. The point is, there's a limit on how these "new technologies" can be monetized.😀 #MBA #AI #GPT #GenAI #Chegg #Education #University #STEM #technology #UTRGV #career #science #USA
People stopped asking dumb questions on stackoverflow, and let AI deal with it.
I'd say that a lot of the jobs that are administrative and do not require real humans, probably in the next 10 years will be replaced.
I am surprised at way AI has improved - I am mostly not using stackoverflow or even Google anymore when working. Of course I would still Google if I am not sure what I am looking for.

3wIt seems like AI might become a victim of its own success. What happens when there’s no fresh input on StackOverflow? GPT models largely rely on the contributions of members who’ve answered questions over the years. As technology evolves and new, version-specific questions about development tools arise, what will happen if there are no answers on StackOverflow to guide AI?
