Start with a strong hook instead. 3. 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘃𝘆 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 Heavy editing doesn't work on Instagram anymore. Use minimal editing now. 4. 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗼𝘇𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗮𝘀𝗵𝘁𝗮𝗴𝘀 Add 7-8 hashtags maximum not more than that. Instead, use keywords. 5. 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀. Keep your reel between 1-10 seconds if you want to go viral. These changes might seem small, but they can make a huge difference in your engagement. I posted for 30 days and I got no views, No followers and Nothing happened. My student was in frustration which made him think of leaving Instagram and Doing some other things! Then he came to me and we found 3 major mistakes he is making in his content! 1. Problem solving : His contents seemed like just a video with no value. He made it not to solve anybody's problem! We found the target audience and made him solve the problem! 2. Less engaging content ; We fixed this issue by adding relevant b-rolls and transitions every 3 seconds in his video, which increased the watch time and engagement! 3. I've been seeing a lot of creators on TikTok and Instagram make this mistake, and it is costing them everything! I don't want this to happen to you. What is the big mistake? I've been studying a brand that grew 1 million followers in 30 days and I realized that all of his posts did one thing very well... In the last 30 days, I achieved over 1 crore views on Instagram and gained 5,000 new followers.🤯 What’s interesting is that, despite being a Travel Content Creator, only one of my posts during this time was travel-related. So, how did I achieve these impressive numbers? The key was experimenting with my content style and adapting to the algorithm. I stepped out of my comfort zone and embraced flexibility, which is essential for growth in a competitive field like content creation. Here are some of my observations on Instagram activity: 1. Voiceover videos are performing exceptionally well. Heavily edited and fast-paced videos are not getting the same engagement that they did. 2. Audiences prefer when you speak directly to them, sharing your experiences, reviews, or stories. 3. Sixty-second Reels are gaining more traction than shorter 5-10 second Reels accompanied by lengthy captions. 4. Authenticity and efforts matter (even if you may think otherwise). Here's a quick content creation update: Last update (2 weeks ago): 25K followers Currently: 38.6K followers Last update: 3400 hours total watch time Currently: 5691 hours total watch time I'm enjoying most of the interactions, and I'm really appreciative of the continued support this project is getting from friends through interaction and encouraging comments. There continue to be occasional unkind comments, and a few homophobic comments and slurs directed my way, which is unfortunate, but I recognize I have things a lot easier than many folks. It's tempting to engage, and I do sometimes, but moving forward I just plan to delete/block folks if they are hateful. I'm glad I'm doing this in my '30s, I think I would have taken the negativity to heart if I'd started content creation in my '20s. I'm getting more comfortable with my video editing. I'm taking around an hour of footage per 30 seconds of edited video length time, which seems inefficient, but I'm getting faster. One of the most helpful resources I've found so far is Katie Steckly's instagram account - @katiesteckly She provides really direct, down to earth advice on sustainable social media growth. So much of the advice out there is presented in an exploitive or clickbait-y way, but Katie keeps things grounded and helpful. Her content is a great reminder to me that some of the best help is given away for free. I've heard that Instagram tends to be one of the tougher platforms to grow on, but that hasn't been my experience so far. I'm getting ready to start branching out to TikTok and Youtube, so I'm curious what growth on those platforms will look like. Thank you for reading!
