While the US trade deficit widened for a third straight month, the deficit in goods with China fell to its lowest level in three months. The trade deficit in goods and services rose 1.9 percent month-on-month to $68.9 billion in February, hitting its highest level in nearly a year, Commerce Department data showed on Thursday. The median estimate of economists surveyed by Bloomberg was for a deficit of $67.6 billion. The value of imports rose to nearly $332 billion in the month, while exports rose to $263 billion in the same period. These figures are not adjusted for inflation. The U.S. goods trade deficit with China narrowed to $21.9 billion in the same period, the lowest on record in three months, indicating a decline in the amount of goods imported from China.

Pakistan's trade deficit for Nov-2024 decreased by 19% YoY to US$1.589bn. Imports decreased by 3% YoY to US$4.4bn, while exports increased by 9% MoM to US$2.8bn. In 5MFY25, Trade deficit clocked in at US$8.7bn down 7% YoY.

Pakistan's trade deficit for Sep-2024 increased by 2% MoM to US$1.78bn. Imports rose by 2% MoM to US$4.58bn, while exports also increased by 2% MoM to US$2.80bn. In 1QFY25, Trade deficit clocked in at US$5.4bn up 4% YoY.
