🎉🚲👏 The Y4PT-UITP Foundation had the one-off privilege to sit down and share an afternoon tea with Mr. Jaime ORTIZ MARIÑO, the "Father of Ciclovía of Bogotá, D.C.", which is currently the world's oldest and largest open street event. We were gently welcomed at his place, where we had a two-hour pleasant, intimate chat, reliving anecdotes and traveling through the urban evolution of the Colombia's capital city in modern times. At the end of the meeting, the Y4PT-UITP Foundation presented an Exceptional Lifetime Achievement Recognition to Mr. ORTIZ MARIÑO for his contribution to humankind after being one of the initiators of the civil cycling movement ("Procicla: La Gran Manifestación del Pedal") that, on Sunday, the 15th of December, 1974, led to the inception of the Ciclovía of Bogotá, .D.C., taking place uninterruptedly for 50 years, engaging millions of people each week, and having inspired many other cities in Colombia and abroad to take similar steps. The Y4PT-UITP Foundation joyfully joins the global celebration of the half-century anniversary of this unique, massive initiative that is enduringly instilling active, recreational, healthy and sustainable mobility habits among citizens. By achieving this milestone, the Ciclovía of Bogotá, D.C. has meritoriously earned the right of being referred to as a part of the Intangible Mobility Heritage of Humanity.
