PRODUCT UPDATE KLAXON:   *New Release for ShipnetONE*- our ERP solution spanning Commercial, Fleet and financial management- is due out later this month.   This is largely a quality of life/ease of use release, reducing the number of clicks and interactions. These improvements come from customer suggestions and we are happy to incorporate them. We have also completed the integration with Source2Sea, and will be talking more about that shortly (!)   *Outside of ShipnetONE*:   PO Approvals Web App for browser-based use (so, mobile, tablet and laptop) is in Beta, and we will be working with selected customers to refine it further. This is a lovely, concise app from Niall Jack and the team, and will make lives easier for users across the globe.   Drydocking: We have AI enhancements in Beta stage now: these aim to simplify the planning stage workflow, and we will talk about these in greater depth shortly. I've seen the demo and it's a really effective use of LLM tech to reduce workload on the people planning drydockings- typical of the high value, low fuss deployments we've seen in other Products Anil Bhardwaj owns. Shipnet Customers will hear more about all of the above via the usual channels, but thought others may like to see what is happening in the coming month or so

Reform (YC W24) is the easiest way for developer teams to build modern logistics software. Transportation services companies rely on dated, archaic transportation management and ERP systems to manage their operations. Oftentimes, they require customization, and hence, the need to hire engineers to make these systems easier to work with. In fact, about 5% of the total revenue generated by logistics service providers is spent on outsourced software consulting. That means 8.7 billion dollars a year is spent trying to make such systems work better. Reform serves as the sweet spot between buying a generic off-the-shelf logistics software and building it in-house. Interesting insights regarding the conversion from platform (mostly Windows for the traditional maritime ERPs) to web. Also called 'Re-platforming', there is no real way to convert but to rewrite the whole product from scratch, and still having to keep the following key points in the right balance: - Maritime ERPs are complex apps with many features and dependencies that are very hard to rewrite in a similar way - The available resources: Rewriting an app can be expensive and time-consuming, while remoting solutions may be a more affordable option. This is mostly why we see cloud hosting options but they cannot replace the native web fluid user experience that we all are just used to these days in all other areas of our interactions with solutions.
