In a world full of people with TikTok brain and tiny attention spans, long-form content is still & will always be king. Here’s why: Monetization: Long-form content is where the money is on YouTube because companies can run ads on your videos. You won't make nearly the same amount of money with YouTube shorts. Audience Connection: To build a meaningful relationship with your audience, they need to hear you speak for minutes at a time. It's difficult to foster the same connection through 30-second clips. Expertise and Depth: Long-form content allows you to really show your expertise & touch on points in-depth. Attention as Currency: In 2024, attention is the biggest currency. If you can capture and hold someone's attention for even 2 minutes, it shows that you have something very special. Content Versatility: Once you have a long-form video, you can use that to cut it into short clips. Not the other way around. I have so many of these type of tips sitting in my mind that'll help your company or personal brand grow. Let me know if you'd like me to continue to share them with you on here. #SocialMediaMarketing #CelebritySocialMediaManager #ContentMarketing #PersonalBrand

Don't dismiss the power of long-form content, or rather, good long-form content. My fave takeaways from this post: 💡 You can slice and dice long form content into smaller bits to share across multiple platforms, and they all lead back to the main event 💡 If you create something that does hold your audience's attention span for more than 2 minutes, that's gold! 💡 More ad dollars for longer content #socialmediamarketing #contentstrategy #video

New YouTube Guidelines: Unlocking Maximum Reach Through Ideal Posting 🕰️ Fellow creators and marketers, YouTube has shared some valuable insights on the best times to upload videos for maximum reach and engagement. Let's dive in: 🔹 For Time-Sensitive Content (News, Trends, etc.): Post as soon as possible to capitalize on its relevance and timeliness. 🔹 For Evergreen Content: No need to stress over timing! Post whenever suits you best, as the platform confirms it doesn't significantly impact long-term performance. 🔹 Live Videos: Schedule them when your analytics show most of your audience is available, maximizing live viewership. 🔹 Off-Hour Posting: YouTube's Rene Ritchie addressed concerns about early morning uploads. While the initial boost may be slower, he reassured that over time, total views tend to even out, regardless of the initial posting hour. The key takeaway? For time-sensitive content, strategic timing matters. But for evergreen topics, focus on understanding your audience's preferences rather than obsessing over the "perfect" posting time. YouTube's Product Lead Todd Beaupre summed it up eloquently: "Replace the word 'algorithm' with 'audience' in your questions. We aim to serve content that satisfies the audience, so aligning with their desires is paramount. The algorithm will follow suit." This guidance simplifies our content strategy, allowing us to prioritize creating value for our audiences over chasing elusive "optimal" posting times for evergreen content. Many of us think YouTube is just a content platform, but it’s actually more of an ad platform. YouTube runs its business by showing ads on our videos, not just hosting our content. To make money, YouTube needs viewers to stay on the platform as long as possible. This is where AVD (Average View Duration) and Watch Time become super important. If your video isn't engaging enough, people will leave early, reducing your AVD. This makes it harder for YouTube to show more ads because viewers are leaving too quickly. So, what does that mean for creators? If your video doesn’t keep viewers interested, YouTube’s algorithm might not push it to more people. It’s a sign that your content may lack the hook that keeps users engaged. To sum it up: YouTube wants to earn money from ads, and if your content doesn’t help them do that, it won’t be promoted as much. Focus on creating videos that keep your audience watching longer. Not only will this boost your AVD and Watch Time, but it will also make YouTube more likely to promote your content. Let’s keep this in mind: YouTube isn’t just a video-sharing site—it’s an ads business that runs on our content. #YouTubeTips #WatchTime #AverageViewDuration #ContentStrategy #YouTubeGrowth #DigitalMarketing #VideoMarketing

How does YouTube increase watch time??? Increasing watch time on YouTube requires attracting viewers and optimizing your content to keep them watching for longer. Here are several effective strategies to increase viewing time. Let's have some discussion about this YouTube wants you to be at least 8 minutes long so you can throw in a mid-roll ad, but it wants you to go longer and longer so it can show more ads, which means attention on shorter videos has been deprecated for years To effectively boost viewing time on YouTube, consider the following strategies: Produce longer videos, ideally between 12 to 15 minutes in duration. Increase the frequency of your uploads. Focus on generating high-quality and original content. Design eye-catching thumbnails to attract more viewers to your videos. Utilizing consistent and branded thumbnails is crucial for ensuring that your channel's videos are easily recognizable. The most effective method to achieve this is through the use of branded thumbnails By diligently implementing these strategies and prioritizing the creation of valuable and engaging content, you can significantly enhance the watch time of your YouTube videos and expand your channel's audience

🤔 What formats are most actively used on YouTube, and does it make sense to generate shorts in professional content, considering that monetization, frankly speaking, is minimal? When the shorts format gained popularity about 3 years ago, we began implementing and testing it on certain professional content. Despite understanding all the risks—shorts work best when they are original and authentic—we actively engaged in experiments. Here are the main conclusions we reached: ✔ Quickly Capture Attention: Shorts typically last anywhere from a few seconds to a minute, making them ideal for quickly grabbing viewers' attention. ✔ Increased Organic Visibility: YouTube actively promotes short content, which can increase the organic visibility of videos. ✔ Attracting New Audiences: Shorts can be attractive to users who prefer short and easy content consumption, potentially leading to the attraction of new subscribers. ✔ Viewer Engagement: Shorts can encourage strong audience engagement in the comments, as they often generate quick and powerful reactions. ✔ Building Brand Association: Additionally, shorts provide a quick association line with the brand. As a result, our shorts generate over 90 million views per year. What are your thoughts on this? Let's discuss! 👋 #YouTube #shorts #monetization #content #views
