To survive, some small colleges will need to change their curriculum, student experience, or even the types of students they seek to enroll. Larry Goldstein highlights the challenge of waiting too long to makes these changes: “The cultural characteristic of these institutions is that they are so close to the edge that they don’t have any time to think about innovation. They are literally just trying to ensure that they make payroll, or can afford to recruit a class to come in, or can fix the boiler that blew up.” Continually exploring the future and considering what it means for their institution can help small colleges become more resilient and take advantage of opportunities. #highereducation #innovation #futuresthinking #foresight #scenarioplanning https://lnkd.in/e8fv7V3b

Life like the riding a bicycle🙏📄 Education is a complex system with many interconnected subsystems in terms of students, syllabus, schools, staff, salaries, civil society, #curriculum experts, authors, practitioners, researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders. So that any decision taken on one component at one level of education brings change to other components and subsystems. Therefore, any interconnectedness requires policymakers and decision-makers to ensure that coherent and consistent education policies and strategic frameworks are in place from a sectoral and system perspective. Emerging challenges such as rapid digitalization, increasing inequality, and disruptions caused by climate change, pandemics, and conflicts demand that countries develop resilient and sustainable policies and strategies on which to build efficient, relevant, and transformative education systems. Finally, we need the best leadership and educationists in order to embellish a realistic platform in order to improve the quality of education for both individuals and the whole nation in our societies. I thank everyone who read it
