Learning Outcomes as Valuable Assets. A brief video showcases the educational BIM-based game setting for the inaugural GEC 3.0 school building. This initiative was undertaken approximately five years ago. It's noteworthy that this particular project focused on an elementary school. Students can engage in authentic study and learning experiences in both virtual reality and the tangible, physical world for all subjects. The musical composition and lyrics for the video were crafted by two 6th-grade students from that school. It shall be confident that high school students in the U.S. and many other countries can achieve even more remarkable learning outcomes as valuable assets.

At the Edves Catalyst 2024, a panel discourse was held on teaching and engaging preschoolers in K-12 schools. Teaching preschoolers can be a delightful adventure when you have the right techniques! Here are some fantastic tips to capture and keep their attention: Start with interactive learning—hands-on activities like arts and crafts are always a great one. Incorporating play into lessons is another great way to keep them engaged; games make learning feel like fun rather than work. The power of storytelling; vivid stories and colorful books can ignite their imagination. Kids learn when you make lessons memorable and enjoyable especially when music and movement are utilized in your teaching. All these can boost the confidence and motivation of every child. #Edves #PreschoolEducation #TeachingTips #InteractiveLearning

How can we NOT focus our attention on the arts in schools. 10 Lessons the Arts Teach from National Art Education Association (all ten in one post). ONE: The arts teach children to make GOOD JUDGMENTS about qualitative relationships. Unlike much of the curriculum in which correct answers and rules prevail, in the arts, it is judgment rather than rules that prevail. TWO: The arts teach children that problems can have MORE than ONE solution and that questions can have more than one answer. THREE: The arts celebrate multiple PERSPECTIVES. One of their large lessons is that there are many ways to SEE and INTERPRET the world. FOUR: The arts teach children that in complex forms of problem-solving purposes are seldom fixed but change with circumstance and opportunity. Learning in the arts requires the ABILITY and a WILLINGNESS to surrender to the unanticipated possibilities of the work as it unfolds. FIVE: The arts make VIVID the fact that neither words in their literal form nor numbers exhaust what we can KNOW. The limits of our language do not define the limits of our COGNITION. SIX: The arts teach students that SMALL DIFFERENCES can have LARGE EFFECTS. The arts traffic in subtleties. SEVEN: The arts teach students to think through and within a material. All art forms employ some means through which IMAGES become REAL. EIGHT: The arts help CHILDREN LEARN to say what cannot be said. When children are invited to disclose what a work of art helps them FEEL, they must reach into their POETIC CAPACITIES to find the words that will do the job. NINE: The ARTS ENABLE us to have EXPERIENCE we can have from no other source and through such experience to DISCOVER the range and variety of what we are capable of FEELING. TEN: The arts' position in the school curriculum symbolizes to the young what adults BELIEVE is IMPORTANT. https://lnkd.in/gxJpA_vy

𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗜𝗥 𝗗𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗠𝗦, 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗙𝗨𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 Shoutout to primary school teachers and parents of primary school children: I will speaking on a topic related to purpose-driven education at King Albert Park on the 12th of October, 1pm-2pm. You ever told your parents, teachers or peers, when you were young, about your aspirations and they told you to "stop your nonsense and go back to studying"? Now, have you done the same thing to your peers, students or children? While it is understandable why such responses are made, some are not aware of not only the psychological implications of such responses but also the missed opportunities that a child, a family, a community or a nation might have because of it. Often, people carry such a negative thought from their childhood into the workplace too, whether they are the employee or the employer. Ever hear your bosses just dismiss your ideas because they think your ideas are not good in their eyes? Have you ever done the same to others? It is the same pattern. This same pattern creates environments in which people feel uncomfortable opening up or out of place. In addition, limiting expression and limiting ideas limits new possibilities for growth and success. At this event, I will focus on why it is crucial for parents and teachers to pay close attention to the aspirations, hobbies and interests of our young ones and how we can better support them as we guide them through their primary school years. I will also share on how it will lead to promising and positive outcomes at the end. For me, Education = Joy We are sometimes guilty of forgetting this. What’s more, it looks like we’ve created systems that often undermine it, with so many barriers - constrained curriculum, overbearing admin and exhausted and overwhelmed teachers. Yet … you only have to think of pre-school children painting with hands, or else reveling in their ability to recognise letters and sounds, to remember what education is truly meant to be. Likewise, picture KS2 children nurturing a garden. Or adolescents participating in school productions and conquering preconceptions about who theatre is really for. Or children of any age learning to love words, immersing themselves in books. And discovering the poetry in mathematics. (That took a while for me!) And think of adults who’ve returned to education, whether it’s to finally master the challenges of literacy or to upskill beyond their younger selves’ expectations. And then there’s the joy that all learners experience when they achieve their goals, including success in examinations. How do we ensure everyone gets the very best chance to find their joy through education, wherever they are in the world?
