At W.S. Deans, we tested a number of clone T-plugs. Some even claimed to be a Deans® Ultra Plug®. In the testing, we found that their resistance was always higher, thus reducing the actual amperage available to a control board, motor, or actuator. Why is this important? Higher resistance creates losses ranging from stalling a motor and crashing a drone to overheating a circuit. #electricaldesign #drones #resistance #amperage

Solar O&M Managers! Check out what we found when doing this inspection. We can clearly see an activated bypass diode in this video due to the thermal camera from the drone, but when we went to inspect the hot spot area we were surprised to find a junction box installed incorrectly! This caused a pretty significant hot spot on the module, but it shows another great reason why drones are so helpful in identifying these issues so they can be corrected. #solar #solarinspection #hotspots #thermal #drones

Lithium-sulfur batteries are a very promising solution for drones as their energy-to-weight ratio is more than double that of other battery technologies in use today. This article points out that (historically) lithium-sulfur's Achilles heel was shorter life cycles, but that has changed -- our lithium-sulfur batteries will meet or exceed the lifecycle of lithium-ion batteries. This system helps to eliminate unwanted camera movement and vibration caused by the drone's flying dynamics. A gimbal consists of a combination of motors, sensors, and gyroscopes, which work together to maintain the camera in a stable position and counteract any unplanned movements.
