Promoting a toxic manager is a huge mistake. → It starts with ignoring bad behavior. Toxic managers can ruin your team and culture long before you see the damage in numbers. Leaders, do this instead: 💡 Address toxic behavior, no matter the performance. Protect your best people and your culture. This approach will keep your team strong, and ensure long-term success. Don't let short-term gains blind you. Your company’s future depends on it. ♻ Agree? Repost to share this with your network. #manager #toxiccompany #toxicmanager #sales #company #business #trust #loyalty #decline #qatar #doha #leaders #people #public #success #pharma #pharmaceuticals #pharmacy

Vision Statement vs Visionary Organisation? I am sure all of you have heard/read about both the terms. They are part of curriculum in all B schools under Strategic Management course. The terms are regularly used in relation to successful companies by many news articles and books. But do they mean the same thing? Is it necessary that if a company has a very good aspirational and long term Vision Statement, it has all necessary credentials to be called as Visionary company? Alternately, if a company does not have a "Vision Statement" in its office corridors as a poster or on its website under "About the company section", it cannot be a Visionary company? In the courses on Strategy, most Books and hence Academics talk about the "Importance" of having a well articulated Vision statement as THE first step towards developing a long term strategy. Total Quality Management frameworks talk about Vision as the Key role of a Leader. Alignment of Vision and Strategy are termed as pre-requisites for long term success. Do, large and successful companies meet the requirements of a Well- Articulated Vision statement? To know more about it, read our latest weekly post on The Chai and Charts Chronicles. In case you do not receive it every week, you can read it here, https://lnkd.in/dR9t9vzg Most of you work in large companies. Have you stopped to ponder whether the company you work for has a well articulated Vision Statement? Do let me know what you think about your company's vision statement!

Be(com)ing a manager used to be considered an achievement. Often used as a promotion (even though being great at what you do does not automatically mean you can inspire a team to reach for better accomplishments), middle management's role has been questioned from the bottom and is getting (in this case) chopped off from the top. It is now up to the working forces to organize and get things done (better? faster?). Hopefully, the efficiency will improve (at least as fast?) as the costs are being cut. Time (and stock price) will tell.
