Following the decisions made yesterday, I read the general terms and conditions of accreditation in the Eurovision song contest 2024 accreditation handbook: https://lnkd.in/egRyySrP The EBU, which organizes the eurovision song contest, states in 8.1 that it, as an organisation, can recovate all issued accreditation rights. Specifically for media it states in 8.2 as ground 'disturbance of the course of the event'. in chapter 8.3a it states that no reasons need to be communicated about the decision. And in chapter 8.3c, the EBU claims no responsibility or liability for all consequences. And the decisions are final, without possibility for appeal. It indicates that it will comply with requests from authorities to revocate an accreditation, but there is nothing in the terms and conditions that allows governments to even petition for an appeal on a decision. Worst thing is of course that national media cannot cover anything on the song contest without risk to be dispelled from broadcasting the event on grounds of 'disturbing the course of the event'. A tight spot to be in when freedom of press is concerned. And a concern for me, who considers to live in a free EU. Is this concern shared?

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗗𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗡𝗥+ 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 RFmondial first came to the attention of the DECT Forum marketing and editorial team when we met up at DECT World 2023, where it demonstrated a DECT NR+-based media app that would handle not only audio files, but compressed video too. RFmondial believes that the audio broadcasting industry and the Pro Audio industries are very close. This belief was cemented by the fact that when the company recently attended the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC), which is the must-attend event for the global media, entertainment and tech industry, it was apparent that the two sectors are contained in the same hall. RFmondial firmly believes that if it is to service these two industries, it makes perfect sense that it should utilise DECT NR+. Since we met in Munich last year, the company has launched a DECT NR+ Evaluation Board that can be used to experience the features and capabilities of DECT NR+. Time to talk to RFmondial again, then!
