Here's my conversation with the founding team of Cursor, a popular code editor (based on VSCode) that specializes in AI-assisted programming.
This is a super technical conversation that is bigger than just about one code editor. It's about the future of programming and, in general, the future of human-AI collaboration.

Here is something good to start your morning by listening to!
I have used and enjoyed using Cursor. It is a great product that can get you into coding without prior knowledge. It is a tool that can take you from 0 to 1 quickly, you just need the idea.
Programming with the help of #AI has never been easier

AI, Agents, and Devin😨… Worried about your job? Don’t be! 😱
Using Cursor to build Vector Notebook
I'm thrilled to be building Vector Notebook with Cursor as my go-to code editor. What's Cursor? 🤔 It’s the best AI-powered code editor developed by Anysphere. Don't worry, Cursor won’t take your job, but it will make programming a lot less stressful. 😌
What makes Cursor special?
Fully autonomous agents are impressive, but there's something even more powerful: the collaboration between humans and AI. As technology evolves (especially reasoning models), human + AI collaboration becomes even more effective. Personally, Cursor has boosted my productivity by 100x, and it’s now my favorite code editor. 💻🚀
The Cursor team Michael T. Sualeh A. Arvid Lunnemark and Aman Sanger phenomenal. I’ve learned a lot from their insightful blog posts and interviews, which have greatly influenced my work. One feature I find particularly fascinating is their variant of speculative decoding called speculative edits, which is super useful when developing agentic systems that write and execute code. 🔥 This week, I’ve been diving into a small research project to develop speculative algorithms using Bayesian optimization. If the experiment works out 😭, expect a paper soon!
If you're interested in enhancing your workflow, I highly recommend downloading Cursor. While you do, check out this podcast 🎧 by Lex Fridman, where he featured the founding team: https://lnkd.in/dtewW8Na.
Tools like Cursor show that human + AI collaboration is incredibly effective 😅. This is the direction Vector Notebook will be taking—not as a tool to replace data and computational scientists, but as a tool to boost their productivity. Just like how Cursor has made developing Vector Notebook a less stressful and fun! 💪🔥

Strongly recommend Lex Fridman's podcast with the Cursor team about the future AI Code Editor & programming. Inspiring discussions on innovation and technology! 🚀
In this rapidly evolving AI landscape, tools that enable safe and efficient experimentation are more important than ever.
