European Environment Agency - European Climate Risk Assessment The EUCRA report builds on and complements the existing knowledge base on climate impacts and risks for Europe, including recent reports by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the Copernicus Climate Change Service and the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, as well as outcomes of EU-funded research and development projects and national climate risk assessments. This report addresses the urgent challenge of climate change and promotes a shift toward nature-based solutions (NbS)! 🌱✨ Key highlights include: ✅ 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 that balances ecological protection and climate adaptation. ✅ NbS like 𝐰𝐞𝐭𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 and urban water infiltration that improve water retention, promote #biodiversity, and mitigate climate change. ✅ 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐯𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 demonstrated by favorable cost-benefit analyses. Started with explaining the amount of emissions and carbon that are in the atmosphere and sinks of carbon. And explained the importance of Forest Management in sustainable climate finance. the course was more focused on REDD+ initiative of UNFCCC and related policy frameworks which is related to emission reduction. When doing this course what I recalled was the Payment for Environmental Services(PES) in my Natural Resource Management lecture. although this dives more deeper into how to implement a emission reduction policy on an international scale. This guide is intended to support the House of Commons Environmental Audit Committee and Members across the House in their examination of these matters.
