Know what you’re buying when it comes to beef. This picture shows a clear difference between store beef (right) and farm beef (left). But the differences go far beyond what meets the eye! 1. **Color Difference**: Store-bought beef is pumped full of additives and preservatives like propyl gallate to protect against spoilage due to long-term air exposure. 2. **Source Transparency**: There’s no guarantee of where the store beef came from or how many cows are in it. Even with a USDA label, as long as the animal was packaged in the US, it can be called a Product of the USA. 3. **Quality and Freshness**: Farm-raised beef is fresher, darker, and packed with more nutrients and flavor.
