I’m peeling back the curtain on a big project I’ve been working on lately… I am really excited to be working with an amazing luxury home builder on getting their operations in tip-top shape (of course, with a special focus on phenomenal client experience). We started with a full tech stack consultation to explore different options, especially considering systems designed for home builders like Houzz Pro. After a deep dive, I presented two main options: the more pre-built Houzz Pro platform and a custom Airtable🤝Moxie combo. Here’s the breakdown: Houzz Pro came across as a sophisticated, out-of-the-box system tailored for construction and building. It offered many features, but with a steep price tag – around $10,000 a year – and limited flexibility. With a system like that, customization is often a challenge, and it can be difficult to control or adjust certain features as needs evolve. On the other hand, I knew that by combining Airtable and Moxie, we could replicate a lot of the functionality that they needed, at a FRACTION of the cost (estimated at under $1,000/year). With this approach, we get the flexibility to fully customize the system to meet the team’s unique requirements and adapt as they grow – without any of the rigid limitations that can come with large, pre-built software solutions. Ultimately, the deciding factor was customization. Houzz Pro might have been a good fit in some ways, but the ability to build exactly what the team needs, when they need it, tipped the scale towards the Airtable🤝Moxie combo. BUT, this isn’t an ordinary Moxie set-up that I’m working on… I’ll be integrated into their team throughout this process, sitting in on meetings and refining the system as I see how the team interacts with it in real-time. I can’t wait to share more about the amazing results we’re going to achieve!
