🆕 New PR Announcement! We published our latest PR piece titled "Staggering Fall Statistics: How Delayed Response Increases Risks for Older Adults." In the UK, falls among older adults are one of the most urgent public health issues, and the statistics are staggering. Roughly 30% of seniors living in the community experience a fall each year, leading to physical injuries and emotional trauma. In this in-depth piece, we explore how delayed responses after falls increase risks and impact health outcomes, especially when timely help isn't available. Fall alarms and wearable technology play a pivotal role in reducing these risks, and we're committed to raising awareness about their importance. 🔗 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/g5P9Di74 #FallPrevention #CPRGuardian #ElderCare #WearableTech #SafetyMatters #HealthAndWellness

Forks Up, Phones Down is a public-awareness campaign that aims to reduce phone usage and encourage human connection at the table. We know you’ve felt it – you are joining friends or family for a meal, and you look around and notice that everyone is on their phones. Everyone is together, but not really… Some of life’s most precious moments are found in conversation with others and gathered around a good plate of food. Yet, the growing usage of technology (via QR code menus, ipads, etc.) in the dining experience places these moments of authentic human connection at risk. It is time to prioritize humans over internet connection at the table by putting our Forks Up and Phones Down. We’re challenging young people and adults alike to put our forks up and our phones down. We believe that setting aside our phones – where we’re inundated with social pressures, stigmas and features that are often detrimental to our mental health and wellbeing – can have a profound positive impact! Let’s prioritize our digital wellbeing over our phones, our tech, and our internet connection. #forksupphonesdown #socialmedia #mentalhealth

The Lazy Epidemic: Is Technology to Blame? In today's fast-paced world, it's easy to get caught up in the notion that technology is making us lazy. With smartphones at our fingertips, we can instantly access information, connect with others, and accomplish tasks with ease. But is this convenience coming at a cost? The Alarming Statistics - 67% of adults check their phones within 5 minutes of waking up (Deloitte) - Average screen time per day: 4 hours 38 minutes (RescueTime) - 43% of people use their phones to avoid boredom (Pew Research Center) The Rise of Convenience Culture The proliferation of smartphones has led to an explosion of apps and services designed to make our lives easier. Food delivery, ride-hailing, and online shopping have become the norm. But has this ease come at the expense of our motivation and productivity? The Science Behind Laziness Research suggests that constant accessibility can lead to: - Decreased attention span (Microsoft) - Increased stress and anxiety (American Psychological Association) - Reduced cognitive function (Harvard Business Review) The Consequences - 25% of adults report feeling lazy most of the time (Gallup) - 60% of employees experience decreased productivity due to distractions (Wakefield Research) - Lazy behavior linked to increased risk of chronic diseases (WHO) Breaking the Cycle To regain control, consider: - Setting screen time limits - Engaging in physical activity - Prioritizing face-to-face interactions Conclusion While technology offers undeniable benefits, it's crucial to recognize its potential to enable laziness. By acknowledging the risks and implementing small changes, we can harness technology's power while maintaining our motivation and well-being. #DigitalDetox #MentalHealthMatters #ProductivityTips #LazyEpidemic #TechnologyAddiction #SmartphoneFree #WellnessWednesday

For children and adults alike, a sedentary lifestyle can lead to multiple health issues, including those that appear on the skin. We need to model the healthier use of digital technology 🧠📲 💻 The risks of technology and social media is almost a boring topic these days - yet the adverse effects continue. ❗️Teens spending 5+ hours online daily are 71% more likely to exhibit suicide risk factors compared to those online for less than an hour. ❗️Unrealistic role models, competition, and cyberbullying contribute to this. ❗️Online porn and gambling is becoming more problematic even among minors. ❗️More screen time often means less or disrupted sleep - a known factor for depression. ❗️Less face-to-face interaction can lead to feelings of isolation and unhappiness. 💡 Steps needed: 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀: Prioritize health and safety in platform design. 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀: Strengthen safety standards and privacy protections for children online. 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: Create a family media plan with clear rules and open discussions. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵: Limit screen time and seek help when encountering online harassment. ✔️ Of course, there are also benefits such as anti-stigma campaigns and supportive communities, especially for marginalized groups. As technology leaders, parents, mentors and others with relevant influence, modeling healthy social media habits is key! --- 🔔 I can help develop digital products that prioritize and elevate mental health, with tailored solutions for children and adults. #DKY Research has shown that the shift to DST can influence everything from energy consumption to human behavior. For example, data indicates that in the weeks following the transition to DST, there is a noticeable reduction in energy use during the evening hours, thanks to extended daylight. However, the data also reveals challenges. The change can disrupt sleep patterns, leading to a temporary increase in accidents and decreased productivity. Businesses often see a shift in consumer behavior, with changes in shopping patterns and online activity.
