Just a little recap of CEPT workshop. Our telco industry is very regulated that limits our options to protect consumers sometimes even from a simple attacks. Hopefully EU countries will follow the examples of Belgium, UK, France and others to get more trust to the telco services. While it is clear that consumers are primarily using OTTs, Google messenger, etc. The only way CSPs can differentiate now is by having a trust eco system. Unfortunatelly it is still a long way, but there is still an opportunity. The other take away is that in attempt of making the eco system more open and transparent DMA EU arrangement is helping to build another monopoly and cannibalize shrinking revenues of CSPs. This means less money MNOs can spend to innovate, ensure quality of their networks and protect their subscribers... It is not always the case that monopoly is bad, but here it might become counter productive.
