This insightful piece by Senior McKinsey & Company Partner Alex Singla highlights how organizations are beginning to use and derive business value from generative AI in 2024. 65% of surveyed organizations reported that they regularly use gen AI and are seeing material benefits in terms of cost decreases and revenue jumps. The article highlights: 💥how AI adoption is surging across the globe, with the professional services industry showing the biggest increase in adoption. 💥that investments in AI are increasing across all industries, with cost decreases commonly reported in human resources and service operations, and revenue increases seen in supply chain and inventory management, marketing and sales. Mr. Singla points out that AI adoption must begin with the most promising business opportunities for companies, and work backwards to AI application [as opposed to "tech for tech's sake"] - and that successful implementation will require managing change at every step of the way as this fascinating technology continues to evolve.
