Gartner: IT Spending Expected to Grow 8% in 2024: The Gartner 2024 IT spending forecast predicts an 8% increase to $5.06 trillion, with data center systems and software driving the growth. Generative AI plans are expected to boost data center spending by 10%, while mobile device spending is recovering due to an accelerating refresh cycle. Additionally, there is a shift towards hiring IT service firms over internal staff, with spending on IT services projected to become the largest market Gartner tracks. In Australia and New Zealand, IT spending growth will be driven by cybersecurity, cloud, and data. The forecast also includes predicted growth in software at 13.9% and communications services at 4.3%.
