One of my late mom's favorite artists was Alan Jackson. Over the weekend, my siblings and I took my dad to his concert in #SaltLakeCity. We had a blast singing along to all the songs I grew up listening to with my mom. One of his songs, called "Little Man" made me think of what we're doing here at TrackFly. The song tells the story of how the "little man" (i.e., the mom-and-pop stores and the specialty stores) was taken over and wiped out by the "big money." The fact is that even though the "little man" has struggled, one of the key reasons for the struggle has actually been the 𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘰𝘧 𝘶𝘴𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘢 𝘢𝘷𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮. Sure, the "big money" can afford to run thinner margins through mass volume, but if you empower the specialty retailers with data (the same quality of data the big money has), you empower them to differentiate in compelling ways to better serve their customers. They know their customers deeply. They know and live in the communities in which they operate. And they are passionate small business owners. 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘺 𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘢 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘦𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘨𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 in the modern world, leaving the "little man" behind. 𝐀𝐭 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐅𝐥𝐲, 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞'𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠. We're building the foundational dataset that allows independent retailers to compete on a level playing field. Large retailers have managed to leverage their size to generate the data that mitigates the information asymmetry with the brands they carry. TrackFly is empowering 𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘰𝘸𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘴 to also eliminate that information asymmetry.
