Here is how we're constructing our next business: 1) Define the problem - the large job search sites make Construction Job searches hard, forcing Construction Professionals to wade through other industries, mixing non-construction employers and non-construction titles into the research. They also often require a large screen for searches; if the construction employee is onsite, phone searches can be frustrating. Our first response: https://lnkd.in/gXW5yvSA We search the web for niche construction job posts, make the display phone friendly, and offer the service for FREE. Please: 1. Visit the site - each visit helps us ensure the site remains a free service. 2. Send us suggestions to keep us on the right track. Thanks. When we get this right, we'll launch the next one. #constructionjobs #softcraftprofessional #softcrafts #scaffold #scaffolder #paint #insulation #metalbuildings #refractory #roofing #heattracing #sprinkler #asbestos #mitigation

When installing metal buildings, projects are completed faster and more reliably when #engineering firms partner with an expert erector rather than trying to do it themselves. #Commercial and #industrial construction projects are complicated. It only makes sense to partner with a specialist, like Double Black Construction, in handling the #concrete #foundation, #steel #framing and installation of #metal #components to ensure the success of the project. #buildings #building #construction #engineers #facilities

Site works are the backbone of any successful construction project, laying the groundwork for everything that follows. From initial clearing and excavation to grading and setting out, every step of site preparation is critical to ensuring that a project progresses smoothly, stays on schedule, and meets quality standards. Attention to detail during this phase can prevent costly delays and rework later on. Effective site work involves a combination of technical knowledge, experience, and adaptability. It’s about understanding the terrain, assessing environmental factors, and coordinating with various stakeholders—from surveyors to engineers—while keeping safety and compliance at the forefront. Whether it's managing soil conditions, overseeing utility installations, or preparing for structural foundations, thorough planning and execution are key. When executed properly, site works not only support the structural integrity of the project but also contribute to long-term sustainability and functionality. This provides a broader view of the importance of site works in construction while emphasizing precision and collaboration, both of which are essential in ensuring a project’s success. #constructionworks #siteworks

We love the world of Civil, so it makes sense that a big focus of ours is helping new people get into the industry. To help give some valuable information, we asked our team what their best piece of advice is to get started in the world of Civil Construction. Here’s the top two responses for people interested in starting in Civil Construction. 1️⃣ “Get your White Card” It is simple and direct, but the main response we had when asking our employees on their tips for starting out. The consensus was that it helps to open more doors and lets you get started on site from day 1. Not sure what a white card is or how to get one? Don’t worry, we have you covered: https://lnkd.in/gcqQSMxz 2️⃣ “Your attitude is more important than skills at the beginning”. If you are worried you don’t have the right skills prior to starting in Civil, don't be. Although qualification and certifications can be important, what we value most is your attitude. We are happy to train you up if you have the passion and enthusiasm to learn and grow with us. You need to be safety focused, and have the mindset to work as a team, collaborate and learn from those around you. Want to know more? Follow us on Instagram for regular updates on PCS and BTS views. What is Resource and Time Management in Construction industry Resource and Time Management in construction industry involves efficiently allocating and using materials, labor, equipment, and time to ensure that projects are completed on schedule and within budget. It ensures the right resources are available at the right time to avoid delays and cost overruns. Example 1: Residential Building Construction Three Key Points: 1)Labor Allocation: Scheduling the right number of workers, such as masons, electricians, and carpenters, for different phases (e.g., foundation, framing, electrical work) to optimize productivity. 2) Material Procurement: Ensuring that construction materials (like cement, steel, and bricks) are delivered on time to avoid interruptions, while managing costs and storage needs. 3) Timeline Monitoring: Setting and adhering to timelines for each construction phase, like excavation, roofing, and interior work, while tracking progress to ensure the project stays on track. Example 2: Highway Construction Three Key Points: 1) Equipment Utilization: Scheduling heavy machinery (e.g., bulldozers, excavators, asphalt pavers) efficiently, ensuring no delays due to equipment availability or breakdowns. 2) Crew Shift Management: Organizing labor shifts to maximize work during favorable conditions (e.g., daylight, dry weather), avoiding downtimes, and ensuring safety during night shifts or bad weather. 3) Critical Path Analysis: Using time management techniques to identify critical tasks (e.g., grading, paving) that must be completed on schedule to avoid cascading delays across other phases of the project.

My first Engineers survey book (nearly 20 years old at this stage) brings back great memories of my early days as a site engineer. The book was in my back pocket at all times, on looking through it, it’s mostly filled with measurements, levels & co-ordinates but surprisingly quite a lot of site records. Plant breakdowns, labour & materials shortages. My advice to young engineers…. (after you have finished the surveying, completed the health & safety paperwork, ordered the concrete, ran to the garage for petrol, emailed the designer chasing drawings, printed the rebar drawings for the Steelfixers (again), called the hose repair man for the excavator, topped up the blue roll in the toilets and taken the senior manager from head office on a tour of the site) ….is to drop a few notes in your survey book recording progress and delays for that day as you may just need them when the project is late and a dispute arises!
