Interesting developments for U.S. airports! The FAA has allocated $186.7 million in grants to 91 airports for infrastructure and other improvements. The top two grants include $61.8 million for Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport in Michigan and $23.5 million for San Diego International Airport. Detroit will use the funds to rehabilitate rescue roadways, while San Diego International will finance a new 1.2-million-sq-ft terminal with 30 gates. The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act dedicates $25 billion over five years to airport grants, with $14.5 billion marked for the Airport Infrastructure Grant Program. Exciting times ahead for U.S. airport infrastructure development!
