Ad revenue in the UK out-of-home (OOH) sector reached £1bn in the first nine months of 2024, according to PwC’s latest report for Outsmart OOH—an impressive 12% year-on-year increase. The sector also recorded £361 million in Q3 2024 revenue, reflecting +4.4% growth compared to the same period last year. Digital OOH (DOOH) continues to lead the charge, with revenue rising by +7.7% year-on-year and now accounting for 67% of total OOH spend. 💸 Out of home (OOH) adspend is on the rise and showing no signs of slowing down, according to the Advertising Association and WARC's latest Expenditure Report. 🌟 OOH started 2024 strong with a 16% year-on-year quarterly increase in adspend in Q1, posting its 12th consecutive quarter of growth. Digital OOH (DOOH) grabbed attention with an impressive 23% year-on-year quarterly growth. 📺 Looking ahead, OOH adspend is projected to reach £1.457 billion in 2024, a 12.5% increase from 2023. Of this projected amount, £977.5 million, or 67%, is expected to come from DOOH. 🚀 Thanks to a fantastic start in 2024, the OOH adspend forecast for 2024 has been bumped up by 5.3 percentage points – the largest positive revision across all media channels! The latest study by Outsmart OOH in collaboration with PwC reveals that UK Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising revenues reached £355 million in the second quarter of 2024, marking a 17% increase compared to the same period last year. Digital OOH (DOOH) revenue saw a significant growth of 21%, while Classic OOH experienced an 11% rise. Digital's share of the total OOH revenue for Q2 expanded from 64% to 66% year-on-year. It is fantastic to see such strong growth in the OOH sector, especially with digital continuing to lead the way. Results show that the OOH market is experiencing robust growth, driven by the increased adoption of digital formats.
