Nepal’s unique combination of a diverse population, emerging healthcare infrastructure, cost-effectiveness, and supportive government policies makes it an ideal location for conducting clinical trials. While challenges such as regulatory development and cultural considerations exist, the opportunities for groundbreaking research and the potential to significantly impact public health in the region are immense. "Improving access is important but not enough to face the current challenges of healthcare systems. We need a whole-system approach to improve quality of care! We need a clear focus on equity, efficiency, and outcomes that matters to people", underlined Dr JOAO BREDA, Head, WHO Athens Office on Quality of Care and Patient Safety & Special Adviser for the Regional Director, Special Representative and Officer in Charge, WHO Greece. 📣 The WHO Office on Quality of Care and Patient Safety in Athens is participating in the European Health Forum Gastein to discuss these vital issues. Health systems are encountering unprecedented challenges - they need to evolve to meet the changing needs of populations. With only 32% of countries in the Region having national plans for quality of care, the Office is leading efforts to reform health systems through a whole-system approach to quality of care that prioritizes: 📌 equitable, efficient, accessible, timely, people-centered services; 📌 adequate governance & financing; and 📌an empowered workforce. A huge thank you to our Regional Director for WHO/Europe, Dr Hans Kluge, and Dr Natasha Azzopardi Muscat, Director of the Division of Country Health Policies & Systems, for their great support of our mission. #whogreece #athensqocoffice WHO Regional Office for Europe
