Pathway one: Career and technical education While a four-year degree is important for many students — especially if their ideal job is among the 64% that do require a college degree—college may not be the best pathway or even a needed pathway for others. Career and technical education (CTE) programs are one non-college pathway to prepare students for the workforce. These programs also engage students in what they’re learning. CTE programs in high school: Show students tangible proof of their skills and what they’re learning and why Give students access to entry- and mid-level certifications that let them enter the workforce right after high school or use to skip college courses. Are more likely to graduate high school.
Marisa Littlefield and Hans Meeder recently attended the 2024 Arkansas CTE Summer Conference. They had the pleasure of chatting with Molly Lindsey, Executive Director of Arkansas ACTE. Great conversations and connections that will help us continue to support and advance CTE in Arkansas. Looking forward to future collaborations! 💫 ✏ #ArkansasCTE #CTESummerConference #CareerAndTechnicalEducation #Networking

Gus Lunde '24, an Environmental Sciences major and Honors College student, designed a thesis that centered two of his passions: biking and birding. His advice for current or prospective Rubenstein School students? "There are a million things going on outside of your classes that can help you realize what it is or what it isn’t that you want to do. Getting out there, putting some effort into introducing yourself to your professors, showing up for opportunities and putting yourself out there is key." I have attended this event hosted by Legal Cheek Thank you very much Rosehana Amin , Adam Leese and Sebastian Florax for speaking today. This was very insight, especially getting an understanding of the implications of Artifical Intelligence from the perspective of professionals who work at Clyde and Co. It was good to understand that AI does have risks, however, using AI tools efficiently and creatively does offer great benefits. In summary, we discussed the opportunities and risks imposed by AI, the failure of businesses to adapt and the use of AI tools in Law Firms.
⭐️We are live at this afternoon's virtual student event with Clyde & Co! On the agenda:

It makes sense that a graduate program that focuses on sports performance, emergency response and health is, itself, fast-paced and demanding, with clear and accelerated rewards. Awesome Dr. Windrow. Your approach and delivery allow leaders to merge the two most relevant scenarios.... practicality and reality. Your approach makes attaining both a realistic opportunity.
The discussion around how to best support ALL students never ends. I was honored to keynote the 39th Annual Conference of the Learning Assistance Association of New England. The audience was engaged and the interaction was stimulating. Plus, the weather in Connecticut this time of year is awesome! Kudos to LAANE: Good People Doing Great Work!

Meet Otis Eads, a transfer student and SPS Ambassador from the University of Alaska Anchorage! His journey in CLA and HC has yielded equal returns for his efforts. Reflecting on his experience as a transfer student, Otis admits, "At first, I was intimidated by the HC, because I was skeptical of my ability to succeed in honors courses. But I realized after connecting with HC students that this was perfect for me. I know now that the courses are designed to make learning easier, and I have enjoyed getting to know professors and my peers in the HC." Discover more about Otis's academic journey: beav.es/qCM
