How Does Your Garden Grow? Life is filled with beautiful flowers. And then there are the weeds, dry soil, and rocky ground in the gardens of our lives. There’s no fence tall enough to keep out unwanted intrusions, emotions, and experiences. How do we learn to take care of the gardens of our own day-to-day lives? In each moment, you can choose how you see yourself and the world around you. And although others can support and cheer you on, it’s on you to care for your own garden. Here’s a few “gardening” tips: 🪴Connect with your values. The values you choose to live by are up to you. What do you truly value? 🪴Practice self compassion. When something disturbs you, you can try to be more patient with yourself. 🪴Find your joy. Go outside in nature. Play games. Watch a movie or a concert. Nurture your garden, in a window or outdoors. Walk with a friend or your dog. Enjoy the sun shining in through a window. Hang out with a loved one, friend, or acquaintance you enjoy. Call someone you care about. Volunteer. Create art, music, or a craft. Write a poem or story just for fun. Cook something you enjoy. Do a random act of kindness. 🪴Practice Gratitude. Whether the day is going well or poorly, it can be helpful to remind yourself of what you are thankful for. Even when times are tough, pausing to notice a small positive moment, experience, or event can offer you greater perspective. What do you need for self-care in the garden of your life? How can you take a step toward watering the flowers, not the weeds? #selfcare #healthandwellness #activatedlife #livealohalivewell #underafullmoonandaguidingstar #alakaiassociates

🌟 Family Fun Friday: 15/03/2024 🌟 Hey everyone, 🌟 Welcome to this week's edition of #JOCFamilyFunFriday. This weekend, why don’t you get creative and make some seed bombs with your family. It's a simple yet engaging process, perfect for adding a splash of wildflowers to your space. These seed bombs are not just a way to beautify your garden, but also a fantastic method to attract and support local wildlife, providing an educational spectacle for kids. To start your seed bomb adventure, combine three parts compost with one part flour. Add just enough water to make the mixture malleable. Shape your mixture into balls, then roll them in your seeds so that the seeds stick to the surface. Once they've dried, throw the bombs into your garden beds. Watch as they gradually transform into a vibrant display of wildflowers, creating a charming and lively habitat for your garden's visitors.

We're really sad. Where are all the 🐝🐝🐝🐝 ? Usually, they’re in abundance in our garden, but now we’re only spotting one or two :( Is it the weather? Is it a lack of flowers? Could hornets be the problem? We did have a huge hornet, a UK hornet, not the aggressive bee-killing Asian kind. Do you know the difference? UK hornets, also known as European hornets, are larger and less aggressive towards bees. They are typically brown with yellow-orange stripes and a slightly reddish head. In contrast, Asian hornets are smaller, predominantly dark brown or black with a yellow-orange band near the tail, and are known for their aggressive behaviour towards honey bees. Anyway, we're sad because we love bees. Personally, I love the bumbling kind; they're so cute. This is why we sponsor a beehive – not a bumblebee hive but our UK honey bees through Staunton Park Bees. The world needs more of them. Lots more. And if our garden is anything to go by, then it’s very sad and scary times ahead because without our bees, we're in trouble. You can help our bee population. Imagine a garden, full of potential, but overrun with weeds. You're the gardener. And those weeds? They're distractions, pulling you away from your goals. For Nina Hill, those distractions come in the form of friends, parties, and even family. Focusing on your garden may seem tough, but remember, a well-tended garden flourishes. Stay focused, and watch your garden grow, just like her. ◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️ Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/eA8PdHmb ◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️◽️ With Nina Hill #PersonalGrowth #SacrificesForSuccess #CareerFocus

“Better than medication for me!”: Nature as Therapy 💚 Over 8,000 people in #England participated in activities like community gardening and saw life-changing results – lower anxiety, more happiness, and improved wellbeing! Be Bold, not Old. You're not growing old, you just need to stretch. R.O.M ( range of motion) of your joints is the key to a longer, more mobile lifespan, and fewer aches, pains, and injuries. A more fruitful life of activity. Seemingly small inconsequential activities, like gardening, playing with the Grandchildren rather than watching them, participating in active community groups, and not being physically disadvantaged through premature aging are just some of the reasons I am motivating people to take up small amounts of easy exercise. https://lnkd.in/gdZHh2_Y #oneminuteworkout

What is the key to a strong, unshakeable family culture? For me, the answer is simple. → Integration. When you align your family around a common: → Vision → Mission → Values And then integrate every member in executing those things You create a powerful, unified front. This is why we are slowly growing our homestead. From the outside, it probably doesn't make much sense. Does a family with 6 young kids really need more to take care of? But the reality it, it has integrated our family in deep ways. We collectively work to feed & care for all the animals. We have family rhythms centered around homestead needs. And even the 2yo is pitching in to shovel compost for our new garden! Dads, Your family is not just a collection of individuals. It's a powerful team that needs a common vision & mission. Be sure to give it to them! How can you integrate your family this weekend? #burnuntamed
