Every day we are asked to make important decisions, which can be simple or life-changing. But how do you define important? Is finding the right title for this manifesto more or less important than deciding whether to move into a new house? We spend hours puzzling over problems that are seemingly very critical to us, but often critical issues can be addressed and simplified using collective intelligence. 🪐 Read our full manifesto here ➡ https://lnkd.in/d_wNE6fR

This reminds me of the saying "The Map is not the Territory". Similarly, the Org Chart (the Map) is just a visual guide. The Territory is what is actually happening, or needs to happen - e.g., how are all of the moving parts working together. That's why, in the world of Org Design, the horizontal integration (the interconnections, hand-offs, governance, role design, etc.) is where the heavy lifting happens. #OrgDesign #Interconnectivity #OrgEffectiveness
Do you want your organization to work like a chart? Or a cow? This is a very serious question. Think about it. https://lnkd.in/g2Jn4bGe

Regardless of how you want your organization to work, it is more the cow than the chart. Treat it that way. No organization is a collection of parts. We can't solve the problems of not feeling included, organizational fragmentation, and alienation with chart-like thinking. #Inclusiveleadership #rethinkingdiversity #aglimpseofthetruth
