I had the opportunity to learn from several of BCWS’s Fire Behavioir Analysts for the past two weeks in the North Peace. The main story we returned to multiple times a day was the effect of the persistent drought that this area has been experiencing for compounding years. Drought is the big multiplier in the many factors and patterns for dangerous fire behaviour and dangerous fire effects. With drought, the exposure to risk for crews is greatly increased due to the increased time required to do mop-up in these conditions. Soil productivity and regeneration also will be greatly impacted by the severity of these deep burns. https://lnkd.in/gtCMKkfE
