A Stark Reality of the Climate Crisis: The world's most vulnerable populations, who have contributed the least to greenhouse gas emissions, are bearing the brunt of climate change's devastating impacts. Meanwhile, major polluters continue to rake in profits at the expense of our planet. This is a profound injustice. We must hold the richest individuals, corporations, and countries accountable for their actions. It's time for them to #PayUp for the environmental damage they've caused and contribute to building a more sustainable future for all. BE THE FIX! While we need you to be a climate literate citizen that will hold leaders accountable for our climate policies. Our collective action is more important, together as a community we can make a difference. Your action matters but our collective action matters more, no action is too small to make a different and no voice is to small to make a difference. To serving as custodians of God’s creation is not an empty title, it requires that we act with all the urgency that this dire situation demands. Take action, it's the most important thing every single one of us can do, talk about why it matters and how we can fix it. Use your voice to advocate for change within your sphere of influence. NOT THE MIX! Refrain from societal actions or communal behaviors that's harmful to the environment. Especially actions that contribute to the dire crisis of climate change - land degradation, droughts, heatwaves, floods, plastic and waste pollution, water and air pollution. #SDG4TARGET7 #SDG13TARGET3 #OurClimateLiteracyStory

Responsible for a third of global greenhouse gas emissions, the impact of our food systems is one of the world’s biggest environmental challenges. This #UNGA79, we put global food systems on the agenda to ensure that we can meet the Paris Climate Agreement. By bringing together investors, producers, donors, governments, and philanthropists, we can accelerate food systems transformation to be regenerative and fight climate change. #UNGAxRF #ClimateWeekNYC

🌎💪 It’s #ClimateWeek in NYC. Events over the past years have made clear that no one can escape the impacts of climate change. However, at the global level, climate effects are not uniform. The Global Climate Risk Index 2021 indicates that the poorest countries of the world, whilst registering the lowest industrial pollution levels, are most susceptible to the damage produced by climate change. In fact, evidence indicates that the initial inequality experienced by countries of the Global South puts them in a position of disadvantage, where they are particularly vulnerable to climate change impacts. The Elba Hope Foundation is committed to transforming communities through empowerment and action! 🎯 Our Agriculture and Conservation programs empower smallholder farmers and farming collectives to become catalysts for change in their communities while ensuring the protection and regeneration of forests and farmlands. Let's work together to ignite hope, inspire transformation, and empower the most vulnerable among us. 🤝✨ #ClimateChangeIsReal #WomenEmpowerment #CommunityChange #ClimateChange #climateweeknyc

Communities worldwide are facing with two escalating crises: a climate crisis and a care crisis. The climate crisis is clearly highlighted by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which emphasises the urgency of the situation. The primary driver of this crisis is the rise in greenhouse gases, stemming from the overuse of fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial activities. Essentially, it reflects a development model that neglects environmental stewardship. In contrast, the care crisis is less often discussed. It concerns to society's ability to support households, raise children, and nurture communities. This crisis arises from inadequate investment in mutual care and support. Read more in this insighful The Conversation UK article below, which looks at anchoring care in climate policy. #climatecrisis #carecrisis #climatepolicy
