In a new feature to the Instagram Page I run, Artists Monthly, I've introduced a 'Did you know?' feature. After many chats with musicians at university a lot of the business side of the industry is unknown to them, which is why I've tried to simplify a few key parts of the business that are essential knowledge! DID YOU KNOW? 🧠 To collect royalty payments, two codes are assigned to your songs when released! Here's what they are, what they do, and why they are important for anybody releasing music to understand! 👏 * * #independentartists #musicindustry #musicbusiness #didyouknow #musicprofessionals #music https://lnkd.in/dK_QsuVH

People often ask us, "Who picks the music—the DJ, the couple, or the event organizer?" The answer is: it's totally up to you! You can be as involved as you’d like because it’s your event, not ours. You can either give us your favorite genres and eras, and our DJs will read the crowd and take requests. Or if there are songs you don’t want to hear, just let us know and we’ll make sure they stay off the playlist. And if you want, you may even control every single song that gets played! well... hmmm. I am not even sure what i think about this. what if it makes really deep songs? what happens when everyone has lost shared music because now you can have a new tracklist based on how you want to feel or be motivated for the day? when love songs are common. when you can listen to an idealized version of your voice singing to you. this is gonna be so interesting. no doubt singing emails are coming. no more ads on the radio, or at least, not as noticable, it could just be a song, with a problem and a solution :D maybe they could inject preference for beat structure into models and then sell those as the new instrument plugins. anyways, this is too cool. https://lnkd.in/giz_qvQA

Here is how to use pop music in your video, without robbing a bank to pay for a license When crafting any video, choosing the right music is absolutely crucial. It often sets the pace, evokes emotions, and can build or destroy the entire story. But what if you feel like your story deserves some sprinkles in the form of mainstream bangers like Drake, Justin Bieber, or Dua Lipa? The solution is called Lickd (yes, the name is real 😁), where you can get licenses for $15 a month for a ton of popular music in one place. 🎶 And noup this is not a sponsored post, just a genuine tip 😊. Listen while you work? I do. It's hard for me to leave my warm stack of CDs from the 90s <joke> the last decade that mattered </joke> ... so here's a Substack I follow. In the article "New Music Discovery 101" Gabbi writes: "Finding new music used to be as easy as turning on MTV2. Now it can seem daunting ... at least to find the good stuff. Where do you start when you haven't been keeping up for years?"
