For 75 years UI Craniofacial Center has enhanced, transformed, and expanded the way children and families in impacted by craniofacial and facial conditions and anomalies are treated. CFC is one of the oldest and largest facilities in the world dedicated to the evaluation and treatment of infants, children, adolescents, and adults. Their comprehensive multidisciplinary approach enables the clinicians and staff to see each family and child fully as individuals with unique needs. The foundation of relationship building between clinicians and patients along with the state of the art care creates an environment where patients regain their confidence and sense of power in their journey. Face the Future Foundation is so proud to be a staunch supporter of this renowned center and to celebrate their accomplishments and work next month at our Diamond Jubilee evening. So what does 75 years of excellence in care look like? Watch below as a young girl receives her very own prosthetic ear created by the talented anaplastologist and medical artists. At CFC children have the opportunity to share their experiences through play with dolls that are made to look similar to them. But all families of different races or ethnic backgrounds can have a child with DS. And that’s why it's important that we continue to focus on research that can lead to scientific discoveries that improve the quality of life for those with DS.
