Honestly, I'm not a fan of job descriptions. They're usually just a bunch of fancy words thrown together, missing the real point of the job. When we start looking for a new candidate for a role, we don't just ask for a list of duties and responsibilities. Instead, we like to get a bit more results-driven. Imagine you're sitting down with your new hire a year from now, and they've absolutely nailed it. 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯'𝘴 𝘵𝘰𝘱 3 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴? We need to see some real results. Something concrete would be perfect: * Our global customers are pushing us to expand internationally. We need to hire experienced sales executives in retail for Colombia and Mexico. * The Sales Executives should collaborate effectively with headquarters to maximize our current client leads. * The sales executives must have strong relationships with local retailers and actively seek out new leads. These are real responses from a recent search we did. Our client wanted someone who could not only follow up on leads but also find new leads through their connections. Of course, the commission was a great bonus for those who wanted to grow with the company. We recently found great fits for this client who wanted to expand their business internationally in the first quarter of 2024. As we're getting closer to making that hire, it's exciting to see another story of global ambition playing out. #BeyondJobDescriptions #GlobalTalent #HiringSuccess #InternationalExpansion

A German, an Italian, a Dane, a Frenchwoman, and a Spaniard walk into a room... sounds like the start of a really good joke, right? In this case, it's not a joke but a scenario I'm extremely proud of and its outcome. I was tasked with creating a team of five candidates in Spain, specifically five Inside Sales Representatives, for an international company. There were several challenges: - All needed to be based in Spain. - All needed to speak English. - Each candidate had to speak a different additional language (German, French, Italian, one Scandinavian language—Danish, Swedish, or Norwegian, and one Spanish speaker). This was a super challenging and satisfying task that was crowned a meteoric success. In practice, I needed to find 5 foreign employees residing in Spain and connect them to the role. Thanks to the professional and social network I’ve built over the years, I successfully found 5 perfect candidates for the role, whom I also knew personally. So, I managed to bring together an elite team for a fantastic company, and this "impossible" task turned into a success. Catharsis. #successstory #recruiting #headhunting #spain #jobopportunity

TRACTIAN isn’t for everyone. Growing fast while staying true to our core values is a challenge we embrace. TRACTIAN is for people who are: 1. Insanely hungry and driven to accomplish something big. 2. Humble enough to know that hard work is non-negotiable, and we never compromise on quality. 3. Open to radical transparency and prepared for the toughest conversations of their lives, knowing the company and our customers come first. 4. Incredibly fast learners who thrive under pressure and are always looking to level up. We hold ourselves to a high standard and seek out excellence—unapologetically preferring people who are smart, sharp and ambitious. Think of us as an Olympic team, not a family (seriously, no more of that BS). Our top performers are deeply connected to the challenges they’re tackling. They solve real-world problems, make an impact in people’s lives, and drive company growth with an intense sense of ownership. Oh, and by the way, I’m hiring a Sales Director to work directly with me in our Mexico City office. If you are this person though, this will be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life, the most valuable insights into solving tough problems and definitely a story worth telling for years to come. Please reach out :)

𝗠𝘆 𝗨𝗻𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗝𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗻 When I first moved to Japan, I stepped into a new role as a Client Training Executive. I was only a few years into my career and unsure of where my career path would lead. What quickly became clear was that everything revolved around sales—if you weren’t in sales or never had been, you would be left on the sidelines. As a natural introvert, the idea of working in sales was unappealing, to say the least, but I knew it would be an opportunity to grow and would give my career a boost. The Head of Sales, who had known me from my early career days in the UK, wasn’t particularly supportive, perhaps because I wasn’t the most confident or assertive back then. Despite this, the sales manager I worked with backed me, and together we negotiated a hybrid role where I could continue my training responsibilities while taking on account management for a subset of my clients. Thrown into the deep end with no formal training, I had to learn fast. I focused on three things: ⭐𝗔𝗯𝘀𝗼𝗿𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀. Each salesperson had their own approach, so I tried to learn from all of them ⭐𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. I’ve always believed there’s no such thing as a stupid question (well, there is, but that's a story for another day). ⭐𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝘀. As a client trainer, I knew our products inside and out, giving me the confidence to discuss the value we could deliver to clients. I didn’t become a record-breaking salesperson overnight, but I consistently met my targets. After six months, I moved fully into account management, and a year later, I was promoted to Senior Account Manager. The insights I gained from my time in sales have been invaluable as my career has progressed. Having that frontline sales experience has helped me understand the challenges sales teams face, making me a more effective and credible marketer today. Have you taken a detour in your career to learn or help you move up the ladder? (Photo: part of the client training team at a random location somewhere in Tokyo)
